Classic fit chinos, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label
Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.
Classic fit chinos run straight from hip to hem, with room through the seat and thigh and a leg opening that falls cleanly over a shoe. They are usually the volume trouser of a menswear range, so the cut matters beyond itself: slim, cropped and pleated styles are often derived from this pattern. A classic fit chinos manufacturer in Bangladesh works mainly in cotton twill at 240 to 280 GSM, woven from single or two-ply yarn.
Garments Hub BD is a sourcing desk in Dhaka; factories on its bench do the cutting and sewing. A classic fit enquiry goes to two of them with the same twill, finish and size grid, so both prices on the comparison sheet describe the same trouser. Because this block feeds your whole range, your tech pack and pattern are used for your order only.
Kinds of classic fit chinos
Crisp finish four pocket
Slant front pockets, two buttoned welt back pockets and a firm finish that holds a pressed crease. The weekday staple where chinos replace a suit trouser.
Washed classic
Sewn, then washed with enzyme and softener for a broken-in hand and a slightly faded face. Suits weekend and casual ranges; the size chart has to be measured after the wash.
Easy care classic
Twill treated with a crease resistant resin so it comes out of the machine nearly flat. Chosen for travel and uniform style programmes, and it raises a formaldehyde question for EU buyers.
Comfort waist classic
A hidden elastic section inside the waistband at each side gives a few centimetres of ease without changing the look. Volume buyers with an older customer ask for it.
Two-ply twill classic
Woven from plied yarn in warp and weft for a firmer cloth that keeps its shape through years of washing. Pick it for a long life core line.
How to brief a classic fit chinos manufacturer in Bangladesh
- Twill and weight
- Name the weave (2/1 or 3/1), single or two-ply yarn, and the weight in GSM. The low end of 240 to 280 GSM suits warm markets; the high end holds a crease.
- Straight leg measurements
- Give thigh, knee and leg opening as well as waist. On a classic leg the knee and opening differ by only a centimetre or two, and that small gap is what keeps it straight.
- Rise and seat
- State front and back rise. A classic fit sits at or near the natural waist with a fuller seat, and a short back rise makes the trouser drag down when the wearer sits.
- Waistband build
- Curtain or none, the width (usually 3.5 to 4 cm), button and hook or button only, and whether the band is cut straight or shaped to the waist.
- Pockets
- Slant or straight side pockets, the pocket bag depth, welt or patch back pockets, and the back pocket position measured from the waist seam and the centre back seam.
- Finish
- Rigid, washed or easy care. Each changes shrinkage, hand and price, so the size chart must state measurements after the finish.
Tests for classic fit chinos
- ISO 3801
- Confirms the twill's mass per unit area, so the weight you approved on the swatch is the weight in the bulk rolls rather than a lighter substitute.
- ISO 13934-1
- Tensile strength of the woven twill in warp and weft. Worth asking for on a core line expected to survive years of washing and wear.
- ISO 105-C06
- Washing fastness on a 1 to 5 grey scale grade for each stock shade. Navy, olive and black classics need a grade that stops them bleeding onto a lighter load.
- EU REACH Annex XVII, entry 72
- Restricts formaldehyde in clothing at 75 mg/kg in the EU. Ask for a test on any easy care finished twill before bulk is cut.
What moves the price of classic fit chinos
- Twill construction: two-ply yarn costs more per metre than single yarn at the same weight.
- Finish: an enzyme wash or an easy care resin adds a process step and a lab test.
- Waistband detail, from the curtain and comfort elastic to the button and zip chosen.
- A grid with several inseam lengths per waist, which raises cutting and packing work.
- Colour count, because every shade needs its own lab dip and its own dye lot.
Lead time for classic fit chinos
Classic fits tend to sample quickly because many factories already run a straight leg block close to yours: proto and fit samples usually come inside 7 to 14 days. Bulk for a classic chino runs 30 to 60 days once the PP sample is signed. Lab dips per shade, a garment wash or an easy care finish with its formaldehyde test each add days.
What we check on classic fit chinos before shipment
- Curtain waistbandThe inner curtain lies flat without rolling, the band width is even, and the labels and hanger loops sit where the spec puts them.
- Seat and thigh at the top sizesSeat and thigh measured on the largest sizes, where grading on waist alone first shows up as a tight seat.
- Back pocket placementBoth back pockets level and the same distance from the centre back seam; a few millimetres out reads as a cheap trouser.
- Fly and buttonThe zip runs its full length behind a fly shield, and the waistband button is sewn with a shank that holds.
Questions buyers ask about classic fit chinos
What twill weight suits a year round classic fit chino?
Usually 260 to 280 GSM. It holds a crease, wears well through autumn and spring and does not feel heavy indoors. Drop to around 240 GSM for a hot market or a summer drop, and expect a little less shape at the knee by the end of the day.
Can our classic block be the base for slim and cropped styles?
Yes, and it is the cheaper route. The factory adjusts thigh, knee and leg opening from your approved classic pattern instead of starting again, and the new fit sample is measured against it. Keep rise and waistband the same so the range fits consistently.
Does an easy care finish cause problems in the EU?
It can. Crease resistant resins can release formaldehyde, which REACH Annex XVII restricts in clothing at 75 mg/kg. Ask for a formaldehyde test on the finished twill before bulk, and expect the factory to use a low formaldehyde resin for EU orders.
Can classic chinos be ordered in waist and inseam sizes?
Yes. Inch waist sizes with 30, 32 and 34 inch inseams are common for this fit. Each length is cut and packed as its own size, so give the quantity per waist and per length; the minimums each factory sets for a split grid come back on the quote sheet.
