Panties are a high volume, low value garment where the margin is decided by fabric consumption and the return rate is decided by fit. We are a sourcing desk in Dhaka. We do not own a factory. Your enquiry goes to two lingerie and knit plants from our bench, you get both quotes with our read on which suits the order, and our own person is on the floor for the inline and the final inspection.

Panty types we source

Bikini Panty

Mid rise front, moderate rear coverage, elastic or bound leg. The volume style in most ranges and the one to price first.

Hipster Panty

Lower rise sitting on the hip, fuller rear coverage, usually a wider waistband. Reads as everyday rather than fashion.

Brief Panty

Higher rise, full coverage, covered elastic at the waist and leg. The most forgiving style to grade and the most forgiving to wear.

Boyshort Panty

Short leg extending onto the thigh, cut on a different block from the styles above. If you want boyshorts alongside briefs, that is a second pattern set and a second sample.

Thong Panty

Narrow rear panel, bound or bonded edges. Fabric consumption is the lowest on the page and the edge finish is where quality shows.

High Waist Panty

Rise above the natural waist, often with a wider power mesh front panel. Popular as shapewear adjacent product and priced closer to a light shaper.

Seamless Panty

Bonded or laser cut edges with no stitching, on a smooth microfibre or nylon elastane. It needs a plant with bonding equipment, so tell us early rather than at sampling.

Cotton Panty

Combed cotton or cotton elastane jersey, 150 to 190 GSM, with a cotton gusset. The everyday commodity line and the one buyers compare on price.

Lace Panty

Stretch lace panel at the front, back or leg, on a jersey or microfibre base. Lace has its own lead time because it is bought in, so a lace order runs longer than a plain one.

Maternity Panty

Low or over bump rise with a wide soft waistband and no hard elastic against the skin. Grade it on hip rather than waist.

Period Panty

Layered absorbent gusset built into a brief or hipster body. The absorbent layer is a technical component with a claim attached, so send us the standard or the performance you need stated and we will only quote plants that can supply the test.

Fabric, elastic and the gusset

Most panties are cotton elastane jersey, microfibre nylon elastane, or a modal blend. Cotton breathes and shrinks. Microfibre is smooth under clothes and holds colour. Modal is softer and costs more. Specify the blend and the weight, and ask what the elastane percentage is, because that number decides recovery after a wash.

Elastic is the component that fails and the one most specs leave vague. Covered elastic is softer against the skin. Exposed picot elastic is cheaper and shows at the edge. Bonded and laser cut edges have no elastic at all and need the right machine. Nominate the elastic width and type at every position: waist, leg and gusset.

The gusset is not optional and its fibre is usually specified by the buyer. A cotton gusset on a microfibre body is the common build, and it is a separate cut piece with its own consumption. Say whether you want it single or double layer.

Sizing and grading

This is the garment where grading errors turn into returns. Send your size chart with the waist relaxed and stretched, the hip, the front rise, the back rise and the leg opening, plus your tolerance. Tell us which market sizing you sell in, because UK, EU and US charts do not line up. We measure the pre production sample in the smallest size, the sample size and the largest size, and send you the numbers before bulk cutting starts.

Quality control

Inline inspection while the line runs. Final inspection to AQL 2.5 unless your standard differs, with the photo report before the goods move. On this garment we check elastic recovery after stretch, gusset fibre and placement, seam stretch at the leg, shade continuity between dye lots, and label compliance, because fibre content and care labelling on underwear is checked at the border in several markets.

Compliance differs by plant. The factories on our bench hold different combinations of BSCI, Sedex, WRAP and OEKO-TEX. OEKO-TEX in particular gets asked for on next to skin product, so tell us what your buyer requires and we will only quote plants that already hold it, with the certificate attached to the quote.

Multipacks and packing

Most panty volume ships as a multipack, and the packing is a real cost line rather than an afterthought. Send the pack ratio, the polybag and header card artwork, and the carton and barcode requirement with the enquiry so it is quoted in from the start.
