Tank Top Manufacturer in Bangladesh

A tank top has a short bill of materials, which makes it a sensible first order with a new supplier and an easy garment to get wrong. The armhole and the strap are where the money and the complaints both sit. This page covers what we source, the fabrics the bench runs, and what to send us for a quote.

Tank top types we source

Cotton Tank Top

Combed cotton single jersey, 140 to 180 GSM, self fabric or rib binding at the neck and armhole. The volume item. Ask for combed rather than carded if the garment sits next to skin and gets photographed.

Ribbed Tank Top

1x1 or 2x2 rib, 180 to 220 GSM. It holds its shape through the wash far better than a light jersey and hides a multitude of small fitting sins.

Sports Tank Top

Polyester or poly elastane interlock, 150 to 190 GSM, flatlock seams, sometimes a mesh back panel. Cut with a deeper armhole and a racerback so it clears the shoulder in motion.

Muscle Tank Top

Dropped armhole cut low into the body, wide shoulder, usually heavier jersey at 180 to 220 GSM so the raw cut edge does not curl. Say how low you want the armhole in centimetres, because low is not a measurement.

Racerback Tank Top

Narrow strap crossing high on the back. Grading matters more than on a straight strap, because the strap position moves with the shoulder as the size climbs.

Spaghetti Strap Tank Top

Strap cut narrow and bound or self bound, usually on a lighter jersey at 130 to 160 GSM. The strap is bar tacked front and back. Ask for the bar tack, because a plain seam fails there first.

Oversized Tank Top

Boxy body, dropped shoulder point, heavy jersey at 200 to 240 GSM so it hangs rather than clings. Give us the body width and length you want, because oversized is a fit and not a size.

Printed Tank Top

Screen print, discharge print or heat transfer on any body above. Discharge sits softest on dark cotton and is the one to ask for when the print covers the chest.

Fabric and finish

Single jersey is the default. It is cheap, it dyes well, and it curls at a raw edge, which is why every tank top has a binding or a hem somewhere. Rib costs more per kilo but needs less making up and holds the neckline, so on a mid weight garment the two often land close on the finished price.

For anything worn in a gym the fibre matters more than the weight. Cotton holds sweat and gets heavy. Polyester and poly elastane move it and dry faster. Poly cotton splits the difference and is usually the cheapest way to make a garment that does not feel cheap.

Binding is the detail worth specifying. Self fabric binding is cheapest and stretches out. Rib binding holds. A coverstitched turned hem is neatest and slowest. Pick one in the spec rather than leaving it to the factory, because the factory will pick the fastest.

Sizing and grading

A tank top has almost nowhere to hide a grading error. Send your size chart with the chest, the body length from the high point of the shoulder, the strap width and the armhole depth, and tell us your tolerance. We measure the pre production sample in the smallest size, the sample size and the largest size, and send you the numbers before bulk cutting.

Quality control

Inline inspection while the line runs. Final inspection to AQL 2.5 unless your standard differs, with the photo report sent before the goods move. On this garment we pay particular attention to binding tension at the armhole, strap bar tacks, print register across sizes, and shade continuity between dye lots, because a tank top order is usually one colour in volume and a shade break shows up in a shelf display immediately.

Compliance differs by plant. The factories on our bench hold different combinations of BSCI, Sedex, WRAP and OEKO-TEX, so tell us what your buyer requires and we will only quote plants that hold it already, with the certificate attached to the quote.
