School Uniform Manufacturer in Bangladesh

School uniform is a repeat order with a hard deadline and a parent as the end customer. It has to survive five days a week and an industrial wash, it has to still fit in March, and it has to arrive before term starts. Miss the date and the order is worthless, however good the garment is. This page covers the uniform we source, the fabrics the bench runs, and what to send us for a price in 48 hours.

We are a sourcing desk in Dhaka. We do not own a factory. Your enquiry goes to two plants from our bench that run uniform programmes, you get both quotes with our read on which suits the order, and our own person is on the floor for the inline and the final inspection.

School uniform types we source

School Shirt

Poly cotton poplin, 110 to 140 GSM, twin pack or single, short or long sleeve. Poly cotton rather than pure cotton on purpose: it holds its colour through a hot wash and it dries overnight, which is what a parent actually needs.

School Trouser

Poly viscose or poly cotton twill, 200 to 260 GSM, adjustable waist, reinforced knee and seat. The adjustable waist is what turns one size into two and cuts your size curve, so ask for it.

School Skirt

Pleated or A line in poly viscose, with a half elastic or adjustable waist. Pleats have to be heat set or they drop out in a term. Ask whether the pleats are set and at what temperature.

School Blazer

Poly viscose or wool blend, single breasted, two buttons, breast pocket and badge position. Badge applied or a space left for the school to apply its own, and say which, because it changes the make.

School Jumper

Acrylic or cotton acrylic knit, crew or V neck, often with a contrast tipping at the neck and cuff in the school colours. Acrylic is the volume fibre here because it washes hot and does not shrink.

PE Kit

T-shirt and shorts in poly cotton or polyester, printed or embroidered with the school name. Quote it as a set and grade it as two garments.

Polo Shirt

Poly cotton pique, 180 to 200 GSM, two or three button placket. The everyday alternative to a shirt in primary schools and easier for a small child to manage.

Pinafore Dress

Sleeveless dress worn over a shirt, poly viscose, with a full or half lining. Grade on chest and length together, because a pinafore that fits the chest and hangs short looks wrong immediately.

Fabric, and why it is mostly polyester

Nobody chooses poly cotton and poly viscose for uniform because it feels nice. They choose it because the garment goes through a hot wash twice a week for a year. Cotton shrinks, creases and loses colour on that cycle. A 65/35 poly cotton holds shade, dries fast and comes off the line at a price a school can set as a compulsory item.

Where cotton earns its place is next to the skin on small children, so a primary polo or a PE tee is often a higher cotton blend than a secondary shirt. Tell us the age range and we will quote the blend that suits it.

Colour matching matters more here than in almost any other category. A school colour is fixed, and this year's shirts sit next to last year's in the same classroom. Send us the shade reference or a garment from the last order, ask for a lab dip against it, and approve the lab dip under the light you will judge it in.

Durability, and the tests worth asking for

The specification that decides whether your uniform is reordered is not the fabric name, it is these:

• Colour fastness to washing, tested at the temperature parents actually use
• Dimensional stability, so the shrinkage after five washes is known and the pattern is cut to it
• Pilling and abrasion on the jumper and the trouser seat
• Seam strength at the knee, seat and armhole
• Button and fastener security, which matters more on childrenswear than anywhere else

Send us the standard your buyer or your school cites and we will only quote plants that can supply the report. Childrenswear also carries safety rules on cords and small parts in several markets; tell us the market and those get specified rather than discovered.

Sizing and grading

Uniform is graded by age and by height, not by chest alone. Send your size chart with the age or height range, chest, waist, inside leg, sleeve length and body length, plus your tolerance. Say whether you want adjustable waists and turn up hems, because both change the size curve and both reduce your returns.

We measure the pre production sample in the smallest size, the sample size and the largest size and send you the numbers before bulk cutting starts. On a uniform order we also ask the plant to confirm the shrunk pattern, because a garment cut to the raw pattern fits in the shop and not after the first wash.

Quality control

Inline inspection while the line runs. Final inspection to AQL 2.5 unless your standard differs, with the photo report before the goods move. On uniform we check shade against the approved lab dip on every colour, shrinkage on a washed sample, pleat retention after a wash on skirts, badge and embroidery position against the spec, seam strength at the knee and seat, and button security.

Compliance differs by plant. The factories on our bench hold different combinations of BSCI, Sedex, WRAP and OEKO-TEX, and OEKO-TEX gets asked for on childrenswear in particular. Tell us what your buyer requires and we will only quote plants that already hold it, with the certificate attached to the quote.

Minimum order starts from 300 pieces per colour. Two factory quotes in 48 hours, sample in 7 to 14 days, bulk in 30 to 60 days after the pre production sample is signed, FOB Chattogram.

Booking a term

Uniform capacity fills months before term and the plants that run it well fill first. Send us the programme volume as early as you have it, even if the styles are not final. A booked slot with a later style change is an easy conversation. A finished tech pack with no slot left is not.
