Hand Glove Manufacturer in Bangladesh

Gloves split into two trades that share a name. A dress or driving glove is a leather product cut to a hand pattern with almost no tolerance, and a work glove is a safety product that either meets a standard or is worthless. Decide which you are buying before you ask for a price, because they are different factories. This page covers both, what to specify, and where our bench honestly stands.

We are a sourcing desk in Dhaka. We do not own a factory, and we will be direct: we do not have a tannery or a glove unit on the bench. Bangladesh makes gloves, we have not vetted a unit yet. Read the note below, and read the rest anyway, because the specification does not change with the factory.

Hand glove types we source

Leather Dress Glove

Thin lamb or goat leather, 0.5 to 0.8 millimetres, three point stitching on the back, silk or cashmere lined. The finest glove make and the one where hand pattern accuracy shows immediately.

Driving Glove

Leather with knuckle perforations and often an open back with a snap. Cut close, because a loose driving glove defeats its purpose.

Winter Glove

Leather or textile shell with a thermal lining, sometimes a knitted cuff. Say the lining by name and weight, because "fleece lined" covers a range from useful to decorative.

Work Glove

Split leather or a coated textile palm with a reinforced thumb crotch. This is a safety product: the standard your customer cites decides the material, not your preference.

Cut Resistant Glove

A knitted liner in a high performance yarn with a coated palm, rated to a cut level. The rating comes from a test on the finished glove and it has to be certified, not claimed.

Gardening Glove

Textile back with a leather or coated palm, elasticated wrist. High volume and low value, sold on print and packaging as much as on the glove.

Mitten

Fingers joined, warmer, simpler and cheaper to make than a five finger glove. Worth quoting alongside a winter glove.

Touchscreen Glove

A conductive yarn or patch at the thumb and index finger. Ask for it to be tested on a real device on the sampled pair, because it either works or it does not.

Leather and material, specified properly

For leather gloves ask for type, layer, animal, tannage, thickness and finish, the same discipline as any leather product. Two things matter more on gloves than anywhere else:

Thickness. A dress glove is 0.5 to 0.8 millimetres. Above one millimetre a glove stops being a dress glove and becomes stiff. This number is the product.

Stretch direction. Leather stretches more across the hide than along it, and a glove cut in the wrong direction will not go on. Ask which way the unit cuts and whether it uses a clicking die or a hand knife.

For work gloves, the material follows the standard. Split leather, grain leather, nitrile, latex, polyurethane and PVC coatings all perform differently, and the glove is specified by the performance level, not the coating name.

Sizing, which is unforgiving

Gloves are sized by hand circumference and hand length, usually as numbers from 6 to 11 or as XS to XXL. There is very little ease in a glove, so a size chart that is approximate produces a product nobody can wear.

Send the chart with hand circumference, hand length and finger length, and the size curve with quantity per size. Ask for fit samples in three sizes, not one, and put a hand in each. This is the one product on this site where flat measurements tell you almost nothing.

Safety certification, for anything sold as a work glove

If the glove is sold for protection, the claim is regulated in most markets and the certificate belongs to the finished glove, not to the material. Tell us:

• The standard your customer cites, and the performance level within it
• Whether cut, abrasion, tear, puncture, heat or chemical resistance is claimed
• Whether the packaging or the glove itself will carry a mark

We will only quote units that can supply a test report for the finished glove at the level you need, and the report comes attached to the quote rather than promised after the order. If a unit cannot produce it, we will tell you, and we will not let a glove be sold as protective on a claim nobody tested.

Where our bench stands

Said plainly, because a page implying otherwise would earn an enquiry we would have to duck: we hold knit, woven, sweater, denim and outerwear plants. We hold no tannery and no glove unit. Gloves need hand dies, glove sewing machines and, for work gloves, a coating line and a test house relationship. None of our plants is a step towards it.

What we will do with an enquiry: find the units that make your glove at your quality, visit them, take your specification in, and come back inside five working days with a quote from a unit we have stood inside, or a straight no.

Leather glove minimums are usually low, often a few hundred pairs, which makes a trial order cheap. Certified work gloves are the opposite: the testing cost sits on the first order, so a small trial is disproportionately expensive and we will say so rather than let you find out.

Quality control, which we do regardless of whose unit it is

Inline inspection while the line runs. Final inspection to AQL 2.5 unless your standard differs, with the photo report before the goods move. On gloves we check thickness with a gauge, stretch direction on a cut sample, seam strength at the thumb crotch and between the fingers, lining attachment, finger length and circumference against the chart in three sizes, left and right symmetry, touchscreen function on a real device where claimed, and for work gloves we check the test report against the level printed on the glove or the packet.
