Workwear is bought on durability and on compliance, and it is returned on fit. A jacket that fails a seam after a month costs you the account, and a hi vis garment that does not meet the standard your customer cites cannot be sold at all. We are a sourcing desk in Dhaka. We do not own a factory. Your enquiry goes to two plants from our bench that already run heavy woven and industrial garments, you get both quotes with our read on which suits the order, and our own person is on the floor for the inline and the final inspection.

Workwear and uniform types we source

Work Shirt

Heavy twill or poly cotton, 170 to 240 GSM, double needle main seams, two chest pockets with flaps, and a longer back hem so it stays tucked. Reinforced at the pocket corners with a bar tack.

Work Trouser

Cotton twill, canvas or poly cotton, 240 to 340 GSM, double layer knee, hammer loop and rule pocket optional, triple stitched inseam and seat. Knee pad pockets if your customer works on the floor.

Coverall

One piece, full length front zip under a storm flap, action back so the wearer can reach, elastic or belted waist. Give us the height range you sell to, because a coverall graded on chest alone fits nobody at the extremes.

Cargo Trouser

Twill or ripstop with bellowed thigh pockets and flap closures, cut fuller than a fashion cargo. The thigh pocket is the part that tears, so ask for a bar tack at every corner.

Hi Vis Vest

Knitted or woven polyester in fluorescent yellow or orange with retro reflective tape. The standard matters more than the garment: tell us which standard your customer cites and the tape and fabric are specified to it, with the test report attached to the quote.

Work Jacket

Canvas, twill or a coated shell, lined or quilted for cold stores, with a rib or storm cuff. Quote it with and without lining, because the lining is often half the cost.

Chef Coat

Cotton or poly cotton, 180 to 220 GSM, double breasted or single, press studs or knotted buttons, vented back. Whites need a fabric that survives an industrial wash, which is a different cloth from a white shirt.

Scrub Set

Poly cotton or poly viscose, 140 to 180 GSM, V neck top with patch pockets and a drawcord or elastic pant. Colour fastness to bleach is the specification that matters and the one most quotes leave out.

Fabric and construction

Workwear fabric is chosen by weight, weave and blend. Cotton twill breathes and abrades well. Poly cotton holds colour and dries faster. Canvas takes the most punishment and is the heaviest to wear. Ripstop gives tear resistance at a lower weight, which is why it shows up on anything that has to be worn all day.

Construction is where durability actually lives. Double needle main seams, triple stitched inseam and seat, bar tacks at every pocket corner and stress point, and a thread that matches the fabric strength. A garment sewn with a light thread on heavy cloth fails at the thread, not the cloth. Name the stitch density and the bar tack positions in your spec or ask us for the standard build and correct it.

For any garment that carries a safety claim, the claim belongs to the fabric and the trim, not to the sewing. Send us the standard reference and we will quote only plants that can supply the test report for the fabric and the reflective tape.

Sizing and grading

Workwear is worn over other clothes, so the ease in your block matters more than on a fashion garment. Send your size chart with the chest, waist, hip, inseam, outseam and sleeve length, plus the tolerance. If you sell to a height range, grade on height as well as girth and say so. We measure the pre production sample in the smallest size, the sample size and the largest size and send you the numbers before bulk cutting.

Quality control

Inline inspection while the line runs. Final inspection to AQL 2.5 unless your standard differs, with the photo report before the goods move. On workwear we check seam strength at the inseam and the armhole, bar tack presence at every stress point, zip and stud function on every sampled garment, shrinkage after an industrial wash rather than a domestic one, and the reflective tape placement against the standard you cited.

Compliance differs by plant. The factories on our bench hold different combinations of BSCI, Sedex, WRAP and OEKO-TEX. Tell us what your buyer requires and we will only quote plants that already hold it, with the certificate attached to the quote.

What to send with your enquiry

• Fabric by weight, weave and blend, or a swatch to match
• Any safety standard your customer cites, so the fabric and tape are specified to it
• Pocket, closure, reinforcement and lining detail, or a sample garment to copy
• Size chart with quantity per size, the height range if you grade on it, and your tolerance
• Embroidery or badge positions, and the stitch count if you have it
• Quantity per colour, your target price and your ship date

Uniform programmes

If you are running a uniform programme rather than a one off buy, tell us the annual volume and the reorder pattern at the first enquiry. A plant prices a repeating order differently from a single run, and holding fabric for your colourway is only possible if it knows the repeat is coming.
