We do not have a tannery or a leather garment unit on the bench yet.

This is a category we are building. Send the enquiry anyway and we will find and vet a unit, visit it, and come back inside 5 working days with either a real quote or a straight no. We will not claim a capability we do not have, and we will not take an order we cannot stand on the floor and inspect.

If you already work with a unit here and want us to manage the quality and the shipping, say so in the enquiry. That we can do from day one.

Biker leather jacket

Leather biker jackets, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

The biker carries more metal than most leather jacket styles: an off-centre front zip, snap-down lapels, zipped cuffs, a belted hem and zipped pockets. Fashion brands, denim labels and motorcycle lifestyle stores sell it as a core autumn and winter piece. A leather biker jacket manufacturer in Bangladesh has to cut a firmer hide cleanly and set heavy zips dead straight, because a wavy zip line shows from across a room.

Garments Hub BD holds no leather garment unit in advance, so the desk finds one for each biker enquiry: a unit that already sews asymmetric fronts and heavy zips, vetted and visited, with a reply inside 5 working days giving a real quote or a straight no. Your pattern and zip nominations go to that unit for your order only.

Kinds of leather biker jacket

Classic asymmetric biker

Off-centre main zip, wide notched lapels held by snaps, a belted hem, zipped cuffs and a slanted chest pocket. Usually cowhide at 1.0 to 1.2 mm, and the shape most buyers mean by the word.

Sheep fashion biker

The same shape cut in a heavier sheep leather of around 1.0 mm. Soft from the first wear and lighter on the shoulders, it scuffs sooner than cowhide. Chosen by womenswear ranges and brands selling the look rather than the ride.

Cropped women's biker

A shorter body ending at the waist, often without the hem belt, with narrower lapels and a closer sleeve. Small panels use the hide well, but a short front leaves little room for zip and pockets.

Quilted panel biker

Padded, stitched panels on the shoulders, elbows or back, a nod to racing wear, with wadding behind the leather. Sold as fashion only; protective riding wear is a separate specification.

Briefing a leather biker jacket manufacturer in Bangladesh

Hide and thickness
Cowhide, buffalo or a heavier sheep, with thickness in millimetres, typically 1.0 to 1.2 for a biker. Ask for a gauge reading on the hide sample, because a thinner hide lets the lapels collapse.
Main zip
Zip size, usually 8 or 10 for the front, tooth metal, slider type and whether it opens at the bottom. Nominate the zip supplier: the front zip is the part a wearer handles every day.
Cuff zips, pocket zips and snaps
Cuff and pocket zips are usually size 5. List every snap by size and position, and name one plating finish for all metal so the jacket does not mix tones.
Hem belt and buckle
Whether the hem belt works or is fixed, its width, buckle shape and plating, and a keeper for the loose end so it does not flap on the hip.
Lining
Body lining in polyester or viscose, often quilted to a thin wadding, with a smooth sleeve lining so arms slide in.
Finish
Aniline, semi aniline or pigmented, and matt, glossy or waxed. A pigmented biker hides marks and resists scuffs; an aniline one shows every scratch.
Stitching
Stitch length, usually 3 to 4 mm on garment leather, thread colour, and which seams and lapel edges are topstitched. Needle holes in leather stay, so stitch lines are fixed at the sample.

Tests and certificates for leather biker jackets

REACH Annex XVII, entry 27 (nickel release)
On a biker, every zip, snap and stud resting on skin falls under the cap of 0.5 micrograms of nickel release per square centimetre per week. Test each plated part bound for the EU.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 47 (chromium VI)
Chrome tanned cowhide, the usual biker leather, must stay below 3 mg/kg of chromium VI where it touches skin. Ask the tannery for a recent test on the lot your jackets are cut from.
LWG
The Leather Working Group rates the tannery behind a biker's cowhide gold, silver, bronze or audited after an environmental audit. If your buyer requires a rating, name it at the enquiry, since it narrows the cowhide on offer.

What moves the price of a leather biker jacket

  • Hide: cowhide or buffalo against sheep, and the grade, set by how many surface marks the cutter has to avoid.
  • Zip count and gauge, since a classic biker carries five or more zips and the front one is heavy.
  • One plating finish matched across zips, snaps, studs and buckle, against mixed stock metal.
  • Quilted panels, epaulettes and the hem belt, each adding cutting and sewing time per jacket.
  • Lining: plain polyester against a quilted body lining with wadding.

Lead time for leather biker jackets

A leather biker jacket typically samples in 14 to 21 days, and bulk takes 45 to 75 days once the pre-production sample is signed. Nominated zips shipped from abroad or a hide colour dyed to order add days, and a chromium VI or nickel release test adds the laboratory's turnaround. The quote sets the biker dates against your zip and hide orders.

What we check on leather biker jackets before shipment

  • Main zip runThe front zip on every sampled jacket run end to end and locked; the slider must not snag at the lapel or hem belt.
  • Lapel lieWith the zip open, both lapels fold back and snap flat at the same height.
  • Thickness across panelsGauge readings taken on front, back and sleeve panels, all inside the agreed range of around 1.0 to 1.2 mm.
  • Metal finish matchZips, snaps, studs and buckle compared with the approved plating; no spotting, peeling or bare base metal at the edges.

Questions buyers ask about leather biker jackets

Can a biker jacket be made in sheep instead of cowhide?

Yes. A heavier sheep leather of around 1.0 mm keeps the biker shape, feels soft from the first wear and weighs less. It scuffs more easily and the lapels hold less structure, which is why many brands keep cowhide for men's bikers and use sheep for women's.

Can our own branded zip pullers and snaps be fitted?

Yes, if the hardware reaches the unit before the pre-production sample. Branded pullers and engraved snaps are usually made to order by a hardware supplier, so allow for their lead time, and send spares to cover pieces lost in setting.

Is a fashion biker jacket the same as motorcycle protective wear?

No. A fashion biker follows the look. Clothing sold to protect riders is built and tested to its own abrasion, seam and impact standards, usually with thicker leather and armour pockets. Say so at the enquiry if you mean protective wear: it is a different specification.

How do we stop shade differences between panels on one biker?

Ask the unit to cut each jacket from as few hides as possible and to sort hides by shade before cutting. Approve a band of three swatches, lightest, target and darkest. A sleeve a shade off the body is the complaint to prevent.
