A sports jersey is the top half of a team kit, and its cut, cloth and decoration change with the sport. Many orders span several: a club with rugby, hockey and netball sections, a school kitting out every team, or a kit label filling a catalogue. A sports jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh runs that as one programme once the decoration route and size lists are settled.
Garments Hub BD splits the enquiry by build, not sport: shirts sublimated on white polyester go to knit plants that print and sew, and dyed cloth with applied numbers is priced as its own line. Football, cricket, basketball and cycling have their own pages; this one covers the sports between them and the whole order.
Kinds of sports jersey
Rugby jersey
A close fitting polyester elastane knit, heavier than a football shirt, with seams reinforced against grabbing and silicone grip prints for catching. Supporter ranges use a looser cotton rich shirt with a woven collar.
Hockey jersey
Ice hockey shirts are cut wide over shoulder and elbow pads, with long sleeves, a double layer shoulder yoke and often a laced neck and fight strap. Field hockey shirts follow a lighter, closer cut.
Volleyball jersey
A fitted stretch knit, sleeveless or cap sleeved for many women's squads and short sleeved for men's. The libero plays in a contrasting colour, so each squad order carries a second colourway for one or two players.
Baseball and softball jersey
A full button front shirt in polyester pique or mesh, usually piece dyed, with piping and chest lettering in tackle twill or print. Pants are ordered as a separate garment.
Esports jersey
A fully sublimated polyester shirt, often long sleeved, with team art, dense sponsor panels and the player's handle instead of a number. Fans buy the same design, so player and retail runs share one print set up.
Fan replica jersey
A supporter version of a match design for retail, usually in a lighter knit with a simpler collar and printed crests. The buyer holds the rights to the club marks.
What to send a sports jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh
- Decoration route
- Full sublimation on white polyester, panels cut from dyed cloth, or piece dyed shirts with applied numbers. Choose per sport; each route runs on a different floor.
- Base cloth by sport
- Interlock for a smooth print face, birdseye or dimple mesh where heat builds, pique for baseball and a heavier knit for rugby; others usually 130 to 180 GSM.
- A block for each sport
- A volleyball cut, an ice hockey cut and a fan shirt cannot share one pattern. Send points of measure for each, with men's, women's and junior charts apart.
- One squad list
- A row per player: sport, team, name as printed, number or handle, and size. One master file stops a hockey number landing on a volleyball shirt.
- Colourways and size spread
- List every colourway with its size breakdown. Per player size runs are thin, so the quote shows how sizes pool in one colourway and where a design falls short.
- Necks and closures
- Crew, V, laced, polo collar or full button front. A laced or buttoned front adds trims and sewing time that a sublimated crew neck does not have.
Tests and certificates for sports jerseys
- AATCC 195
- Moisture management on the base cloth, for squads whose shirts are sold on staying dry. Ask for results after washing, not only on new fabric.
- ISO 12945-2
- Pilling by modified Martindale. Rugby and hockey shirts rub against pads, turf and other players, so set a grade on the bulk knit, above all on spun polyester.
- ISO 105-B02
- Light fastness, graded 1 to 8 against the blue wool references. Baseball and field hockey kits spend long afternoons in sun, and bright sublimated reds fade first.
- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
- For junior and school squads, ask for a certificate covering the finished printed shirt, inks and trims included, not only the white base cloth.
What moves the price of a sports jersey
- Decoration route: sublimation prices by printed area; dyed cloth by colour lot plus applied numbers and crests.
- Cut: ice hockey and button front baseball shirts use more cloth and parts than a crew neck jersey.
- Number of blocks: every new sport in the order needs its own pattern and fit sample.
- Colourway spread: one colourway shared by many squads costs less per shirt than many small ones.
- Bought in trims such as laces, fight straps, buttons and twill lettering.
Lead time for sports jerseys
A multi sport order moves at the pace of its slowest cut. A sublimated crew neck needs a colour proof and a print on the real cloth; an ice hockey or baseball shirt usually needs a second fit round. Twill lettering, knitted collars and off range dyed shades add days. The quote dates each line against each sport's first fixture.
What we check on sports jerseys before shipment
- Cut against sportShirts are checked against the size chart of their own sport, so a volleyball cut is never packed under a football size label.
- Contrast player shirtsLibero and keeper shirts in a second colourway are counted against the list; they are few and easy to miss.
- Grip print and twillSilicone grip prints on rugby shirts and stitched twill on baseball shirts are flexed and lifted at the edges on a washed piece.
- Carton by teamEach carton holds one team, marked with sport, colourway and size range, so a multi sport delivery sorts easily at the club.
Questions buyers ask about sports jerseys
Can one order cover jerseys for several sports?
Yes, with each sport listed as its own style and size chart. Shirts in one sublimation cloth can share a fabric lot, which helps small squads, while each cut is sampled separately. Every sport is its own quote line.
Is sublimation cheaper than dyed cloth with applied numbers?
Usually, for full colour designs and personalised squads, since names and numbers sit inside the print file. A plain dark shirt with a crest and numbers can cost less on dyed cloth with heat applied numbers, and gives a deeper colour.
Can several teams in one club share a minimum?
Yes, when they share a design and colourway. Sizes inside one colourway count together, so fifteen players in nine sizes pool as one, and age groups in the same design, changing only names in the print file, usually clear it together. A design standing alone at a few dozen shirts usually does not.
Can we sell replica shirts of our club kit?
Yes, if the club owns the marks or holds a licence for them. Send the licence or the rights holder's approval with the artwork; the factory prints exactly what was signed off. Replicas usually use a lighter supporter knit and are priced apart from the match kit.
