Tracksuits, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label
Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.
Tracksuits sell to sports clubs, schools, team kit suppliers and leisure brands, and each of those buyers judges the set before the single garment. A tracksuit manufacturer in Bangladesh usually sews the jacket and the trousers on different lines, sometimes from different rolls, so the real work is keeping shade, stripe position and size pairing aligned until the two pieces meet in one polybag.
Factories on the bench quote the jacket and the trousers on one sheet, so the set price and the cost of each piece sit side by side. At inline inspection, jacket and trouser panels from the same dye lot are compared; at final inspection, packed sets are opened to check pairing. Joggers sold on their own are on the joggers page.
Kinds of tracksuit
Polyester tricot tracksuit
The classic warp knit set, shiny or matt, usually 180 to 280 GSM, with a brushed back option for warmth. It holds colour, dries fast and takes sublimated detail, which is why club and team kit use it.
Fleece tracksuit
Poly cotton brushed back fleece, usually 280 to 340 GSM, cut as a zip or hooded top over cuffed trousers. Warm and soft, but it pills and shrinks more than tricot, so both pieces need a shrinkage allowance.
French terry tracksuit
Looped back terry, usually 240 to 300 GSM, lighter than fleece for warm markets and lounge ranges. It takes screen print and embroidery cleanly and often pairs a hoodie or crew with matching trousers.
Woven shell tracksuit
Polyester or nylon taffeta or microfibre, often mesh lined and colour blocked. It blocks wind, rustles and packs small, and it needs a woven sewing floor rather than a knit one.
Mixed fabric set
A woven shell jacket over knit trousers, or the reverse. Two fabrics mean two lab dips to one colour standard and a wider shade tolerance between the pieces, agreed before bulk.
How to specify a tracksuit set
- Fabric for each piece
- Fabric, weight and finish for the jacket and the trousers separately, even when they match. A brushed jacket over unbrushed trousers is a common unplanned mismatch.
- Shade and dye lot
- Ask for both pieces of each colour to be cut from one dye lot. Where that cannot happen, agree a shade tolerance and the light box it is judged in.
- Zip
- Full or quarter zip, coil or moulded teeth, length by size, puller shape and a zip garage at the chin. Name a nominated zip supplier if the brand has one.
- Stripes and piping
- Taped, printed, knitted or inset panel stripes, with width in millimetres and position measured from the shoulder or side seam on both pieces.
- Rib trims
- Cuff, hem and ankle rib in matching or contrast colour, with composition. Rib is dyed apart from the body fabric, so it needs its own lab dip.
- Size pairing and packing
- Same size top and bottom, or split sizes. State one polybag per set or per piece, the fold and where the hangtag goes.
Tests to ask a tracksuit manufacturer in Bangladesh for
- ISO 105-C06
- Fastness to washing, read for staining as well as change: a navy stripe that bleeds into a white panel fails the set even when the navy itself holds.
- ISO 105-X12
- Rubbing fastness, dry and wet. Dark tricot can crock onto light trousers and skin, so test the darkest colour in the range.
- ISO 12945-2
- Pilling at knees, seat and underarms, where fleece and brushed tricot wear first. Test the real fabric of each piece.
- ISO 5077 with ISO 6330
- Shrinkage of jacket and trouser fabric. Both should move by a similar amount, or the set stops matching after washing.
- EN 14682
- EU rules for cords and drawstrings on children's clothing. A waist cord on kids' trousers and a hood cord on the jacket must follow it.
What moves the price of a tracksuit
- Fabric family and weight, counted twice: a set uses roughly double the cloth of a single top.
- Stripe method: woven tape sews fast, inset panels add cutting and sewing, sublimated stripes add a print step.
- Zip length, tooth type and whether a nominated zip supplier is used.
- Decoration across the set, since a chest logo, a leg logo and a back print are each priced.
- Set packing, because pairing and folding two pieces into one bag adds packing time.
Lead time for tracksuits
A tracksuit runs on two lines and meets again at packing, so the slower piece sets the date. A full set sample, jacket and trousers together, usually takes 7 to 14 days. Bulk follows in 30 to 60 days once the PP set is approved in writing. Rib and stripe tape need their own lab dips, and sublimated stripes or heavy embroidery add days; the quote names them.
What we check on tracksuits before shipment
- Set shade matchJacket and trousers from sampled cartons are laid side by side in the light box, because a shade gap shows only when the pieces meet.
- Stripe alignmentStripes and piping are checked to meet at the zip, shoulder and side seams within the agreed millimetres.
- Zip run and front edgeEach zip is run end to end and the front edge checked for waving, a common fault on stretchy tricot.
- Pairing in the packPacked sets are opened to confirm top and bottom carry the same size and colour, and that the polybag label agrees.
Questions buyers ask about tracksuits
Is the tracksuit minimum per colour counted in sets or in pieces?
Ask for both figures on the quote. Most factories count a tracksuit as one set but book fabric for two garments, so the fabric decides the floor per colour. The quote sheet shows each factory's minimum, and the two can differ.
Can the jacket and trousers be ordered in different sizes?
Yes. Split sizing suits brands selling tops and bottoms separately online. It changes packing from one bag per set to one per piece and needs a size ratio for each piece, so state it before the quote, because it changes the fabric booking.
Tricot or fleece for a club tracksuit?
Tricot for training and travel kit: it holds colour, dries fast and takes sublimated detail. Fleece for warmth and leisure: softer and heavier, but quicker to pill. Many clubs order tricot for match day travel and a fleece set for the supporters' range.
Can each tracksuit carry a crest and a player's name?
Yes. Crests are usually embroidered or heat transferred; names, numbers and initials are usually heat transfer. Named pieces are packed and labelled by name, which adds packing time and needs the full name list, sorted by size, before production starts.
