Fitted sheets, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

A fitted sheet is a bottom sheet with its corners sewn into boxes and elastic gathered into the edge, so it grips the mattress without tucking. It is cut to a third measurement that buyers often leave out: mattress depth. A fitted sheet manufacturer in Bangladesh needs that depth, plus any topper, before a pattern is cut, or the sheet rides up at the corners. Buyers are bedding brands, online retailers and mattress sellers.

The desk looks for a unit whose box corner and elastic attaching operations it has watched on the floor, not only a sheeting cutter. Your mattress depths go into the specification with the shrinkage the pattern is cut to, and the fit sample is judged on a mattress of that depth.

Kinds of fitted sheet

All round elastic fitted sheets

Elastic runs in a channel around the whole edge, pulling the sheet under on every side. It grips firmly and uses more elastic. Choose it for deep or soft mattresses that shift in use.

Corner elastic fitted sheets

Elastic only across each corner, with the sides hemmed flat. Less elastic, quicker to sew and easier to fold. Choose it for standard mattresses and value ranges; it loosens on deep ones.

Deep pocket fitted sheets

Cut for mattresses of 35 cm and over, or a mattress with a topper, usually with all round elastic. Choose it for hybrid and pillow top mattresses, where a standard pocket pops off.

Jersey knit fitted sheets

Cotton or blended single jersey, usually 130 to 160 GSM, which stretches over the corners and forgives a depth error. Choose it for easy care ranges; it needs a knitting source, not a weaving one.

Valance sheets

A fitted top with a skirt sewn to its edge that drops to hide the divan base, sold mainly in the UK. Choose it for coordinated sets; the skirt drop is a separate measurement to give.

What a fitted sheet manufacturer in Bangladesh needs from you

Mattress depth
The depth of the mattress your customer owns, plus any topper. Standard pockets are often cut for about 25 to 30 cm; a sheet cut for 25 cm will not stay on 35 cm.
Pocket depth across sizes
Whether every size shares one pocket depth or each has its own, and whether a deep pocket version runs as a separate style with its own label.
Elastic
All round or corners only, braided or knitted, its width in millimetres and its relaxed length per side. Elastic that is too short strains the corner seams.
Corner construction
Box corners sewn and overlocked, the seam allowance, and any bar tack at the corner point. Show the seam on a drawing.
Shrinkage allowance
The shrinkage the pattern is cut to, and finished sizes after washing for both the top panel and the pocket. A pocket that loses depth loses grip.
Side marking
A label or coloured stitch marking the long side or the head end, so the customer does not turn the sheet four times.

Tests and certificates for fitted sheets

AATCC 135
Dimensional change of fabric in home laundering, the method US buyers usually name. Ask for three cycles, then measure pocket depth on a washed finished sheet as well.
ISO 13935
Seam strength. The four corner seams carry the elastic's pull every time the sheet goes on, so test a corner seam, not a side hem.
ISO 13936
Seam slippage in woven fabric. Sateen with long floats can open at the corner seam under load; ask for this result before approving sateen for a fitted sheet.

What moves the price of a fitted sheet

  • Pocket depth: each extra centimetre adds cloth on all four sides, so deep pockets cost more than their size suggests.
  • Elastic: all round uses several metres more per double than corners only.
  • Corner work: box stitching, overlocking and bar tacks are slower than the straight hems of a flat sheet.
  • Cloth: woven percale or sateen against jersey knit, each priced on yarn and construction.
  • Folding: a fitted sheet needs a trained packer to fold flat, and that time shows in the price.

Lead time for fitted sheets

Expect a fitted sheet sample in about 10 to 14 days and bulk in about 45 to 60 days after the PP sample is approved. A second fit round is common when the first sample was cut for a different depth. Jersey knitted and dyed to order, or a nominated elastic, adds days. All dates are confirmed in the unit's quote.

What we check on fitted sheets before shipment

  • Dressed on a mattressPacked sheets are fitted on a mattress of the stated depth to see each corner reach under and stay put.
  • Elastic recoveryElastic is stretched to full extension and released, then checked for return, broken rubber and even gathering.
  • Corner seamsEach box corner is checked for stitch density, seam allowance, open stitches and a bar tack where specified.
  • Pocket depth after a washThe pocket is measured at each corner after one wash, since depth is the measurement that fails first.

Questions buyers ask about fitted sheets

How deep should the pocket be for a 30 cm mattress?

A little deeper than the mattress. Many ranges cut the pocket about 3 to 6 cm deeper so the elastic turns under and grips, which puts a 30 cm mattress at roughly 33 to 36 cm. Check it on a washed sample, because shrinkage takes depth away first.

Is all round elastic worth the extra cost?

On deep or soft mattresses, usually yes: it holds the sides as well as the corners. On a standard mattress, corner elastic fits well, costs less and folds flatter. Some ranges use all round elastic on deep pocket styles and corners only on the rest.

Can a fitted sheet be made in sateen?

Yes, with care. Sateen floats can slip at the corner seams under elastic pull. Ask for a seam slippage test on the chosen cloth, a wider seam allowance and overlocked corners. Percale and jersey carry less risk at the corners.

Why did my fitted sheets fit as samples and not in bulk?

Usually shrinkage. The sample may have been cut from cloth with a different finish, or judged unwashed. State the shrinkage the pattern is cut to, approve a washed PP sample, and have bulk sheets washed and dressed on a mattress before shipping.
