Five panel caps, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label
Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.
A five panel cap replaces the two front panels of a six panel cap with one wide panel, so no seam runs down the middle of the front. That leaves a clean field for a large embroidery, a woven or leather patch or a print, and gives a flatter, squarer face. A five panel cap manufacturer in Bangladesh cuts it from its own pattern, not an adjusted six panel block. Buyers are streetwear brands, outdoor labels and running clubs.
The desk looks for a unit that already runs a five panel block and can show caps sewn from it, since a borrowed six panel pattern shows at the side seams. It takes in your fabric, peak shape and patch artwork, and asks for the patch or embroidery on the real front panel before the PP stage.
Kinds of five panel cap
Camp caps
A nylon or ripstop crown, a flat or slightly curved peak, unstructured, with a webbing strap and plastic side release buckle. Choose it for outdoor and streetwear ranges; it packs flat.
Canvas and twill patch caps
Cotton canvas or twill with a woven, leather or rubber patch centred on the front. Choose it for a clean brand mark; a patch carries detail that embroidery loses.
Corduroy five panels
Fine to medium wale corduroy with a flat or curved peak. Choose it for autumn and winter streetwear; every panel must be cut with the pile running the same way.
Running caps
Light polyester, a soft foldable peak and a perforated or mesh crown, with an elastic or hook and loop back. Choose it for race merchandise; it dries fast and fits a pocket.
Rope front caps
A cord laid across the front above the peak on a five panel crown. Choose it for a retro look; the rope colour is its own trim order.
Five panel cap manufacturer in Bangladesh: what to specify
- Front panel
- Width and height of the single front panel, structured or unstructured, and whether a fused backing keeps a patch flat.
- Patch
- Woven, leather, rubber or embroidered; its size in millimetres; and whether it is stitched round the edge or heat applied.
- Peak shape
- Flat, slightly curved or soft foldable, with length and stitching rows. Camp caps usually carry a flat peak.
- Crown fabric
- Nylon, ripstop, canvas, twill or corduroy, with weight and any repellent finish, and whether side panels differ from the front.
- Back closure
- Webbing with a side release buckle, a leather strap, hook and loop or elastic, and the strap colour.
- Crown depth
- Five panel caps often sit shallower than a structured six panel. Give the front height in centimetres so the unit does not default to its own block.
Tests and certificates for five panel caps
- ISO 4920
- The spray test for water repellency, also run as AATCC 22. Ask for it on nylon and ripstop camp caps with a repellent finish, new and after washing.
- ISO 105-B02
- Light fastness on the 1 to 8 blue wool scale. Bright nylon crowns and dyed patches fade in sun, so agree a minimum grade before bulk.
- RCS
- Chain of custody for recycled content from 5 percent, with no social, environmental or chemical criteria; useful for recycled nylon crowns. It moves to the Materials Matter Standard, with audits to the new standard from 31 December 2026.
What moves the price of a five panel cap
- Patch type: a woven patch costs less than leather or moulded rubber, and size adds to each.
- Fabric: ripstop nylon with a repellent finish is priced differently from canvas or corduroy.
- Closure hardware: webbing and a side release buckle is a bought set; a leather strap with a metal clasp costs more.
- Front build: a fused front that holds a patch flat adds a material and an operation.
- Small runs: streetwear drops are short, so set up cost spreads over fewer caps.
Lead time for five panel caps
A five panel sample usually takes 10 to 14 days and bulk usually 35 to 50 days after PP approval. Custom woven or leather patches come from a separate supplier and need their own sample, which can run alongside the cap sample if artwork arrives early. Webbing dyed to match and a repellent finish add days. The unit's quote confirms the timing.
What we check on five panel caps before shipment
- Patch placementPatches are measured for centre and level on the front panel against a template, on every sampled cap.
- Side seam symmetryThe two seams where the front meets the side panels are checked for equal position, the sign of a true five panel block.
- Buckle and webbingSide release buckles are clipped and pulled, and webbing ends checked for sealed edges that will not fray.
- Foldable peak recoverySoft peaks are folded and released to check they return flat without a crease on running and packable styles.
Questions buyers ask about five panel caps
Is a five panel cap just a six panel without a seam?
No. The front is one wider panel, and the side panels and crown curve change with it, so it needs its own pattern. A six panel block adapted by eye usually shows as uneven side seams and a bulging front. Ask to see caps already sewn from the unit's five panel block.
Patch or embroidery on a five panel front?
A woven or leather patch carries fine detail and small text cleanly and looks identical on every cap. Embroidery suits bold logos and adds texture. The single front panel takes either without a seam through the middle, so choose on the artwork.
Can camp caps be made water repellent?
Yes, with a repellent finish on nylon or ripstop, tested by the spray test new and after washing. A repellent cap is not waterproof: seams and eyelets let water through. State the finish chemistry you accept, for example fluorine free, in the specification.
What if my streetwear drop is small?
The minimum shown on this page is confirmed by the unit in the quote, including how it splits by colour. Small drops often share one fabric and one patch across two colourways to stay above it. Give the drop size on the enquiry and the reply will say yes or no plainly.
