Questions buyers ask about laminated jute bags
Is a laminated jute bag still biodegradable?
Not as a whole. The jute will break down but the plastic film will not, and the two are hard to separate. A laminated bag can honestly be called reusable and durable; avoid calling it biodegradable, compostable or plastic free.
Is a laminated jute bag waterproof?
It is water resistant rather than waterproof. The film stops spills soaking through the cloth, but needle holes at the seams and handle anchors still let water in. For a bag that must hold liquid, ask for taped seams and test the cloth to ISO 811.
Can laminated jute bags carry food?

When the message is plastic free, compostable or fully natural, or when the bag will be washed often, since the film can crack. Unlaminated jute is lighter and folds smaller. Laminate when spills, shape or print sharpness matter more than the claim.
