Sports leggings, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label
Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.
Sports leggings are cut for movement under load: squats, strides and stretches on a mat. They are made from nylon elastane or polyester elastane, usually a warp knit or a tight circular interlock at 220 to 280 GSM with 15 to 25 percent elastane. Gym brands, running labels and team suppliers buy them. A sports leggings manufacturer in Bangladesh earns the order on four things: opacity in a deep squat, seams that stretch without cracking, a gusset, and a waistband that stays up.
One specification goes to two bench factories, and their fabric, seam type, pocket build and test plan sit side by side on one sheet, so a cheaper quote cannot hide a circular knit where you asked for warp knit. If you book a third party inspector of your choice, that report overrules ours, and every stage of the order is photographed for you to keep.
Kinds of sports leggings
Nylon elastane warp knit
Usually 75 to 80 percent nylon with 20 to 25 percent elastane. Smooth, cool and hard wearing at the inner thigh; the usual choice for running and training lines.
Polyester elastane interlock
A circular knit, usually 80 to 88 percent polyester. Costs less than nylon, holds colour well and takes sublimation print, with a slightly firmer, warmer hand.
Brushed studio leggings
Nylon or polyester elastane sanded on the face for a soft, matt hand, sold for yoga and pilates. The sanded surface pills sooner, so it suits low impact wear.
Compression training tights
A firmer warp knit at the heavy end of the weight range with a higher elastane share, sold for a held feel. Claims about muscle recovery or circulation need evidence a factory cannot supply.
Running leggings with pockets
Side drop pockets on the thigh sized for a phone, a zipped back pocket at the waist and reflective prints for low light. Each pocket adds panels and operations.
Briefing a sports leggings manufacturer in Bangladesh
- Fibre, construction and weight
- Nylon or polyester elastane, warp knit or circular interlock, and the GSM. Two quotes on different constructions are two different products.
- Elastane and recovery
- The elastane percentage and a recovery check after a timed stretch on the PP sample, so seat and knees return to shape after a session.
- Seams
- Four needle flatlock on side seams and inseam, or coverstitch where a flatter look is wanted. A plain overlocked inseam on a training legging splits.
- Gusset
- Diamond or triangle, its size, and whether it is cut from the main fabric. It moves the four way seam crossing away from the point under strain.
- Waistband power
- Band depth, inner elastic or bonded power band, and the relaxed and stretched waist per size, so the hold is the same in every size.
- Pockets, zips and reflectives
- Pocket positions and openings, the phone size each must hold, the zip type on a back pocket, and the size and place of any reflective print.
- Wicking claim
- If the hangtag will say wicking or quick dry, name the test and the number of washes the result must survive.
Tests for sports leggings
- AATCC 197
- Vertical wicking: how far and fast water climbs a strip of the fabric. Ask for results before and after home washing if wicking goes on the label.
- AATCC 195
- Moisture management: how sweat spreads and leaves the inner face. Pair it with AATCC 197 when the claim is about drying, not only about drawing moisture.
- ISO 13938
- Bursting strength of knit fabric. It shows whether the seat can take a deep squat without the knit giving way.
- ISO 12947
- Martindale abrasion, for running and training tights where the inner thighs rub on every stride and a thin knit wears through.
What moves the price of sports leggings
- Fibre: nylon elastane costs more than polyester elastane at the same weight.
- Construction: warp knit usually costs more than circular interlock, and brushing adds a finishing step.
- Elastane share: a 25 percent compression knit costs more than a 15 percent studio knit.
- Panels and seams: contoured panels and four needle flatlock take longer to sew than a two panel legging.
- Pockets and finish: bonded openings, a zipped pocket and a tested wicking finish each add cost.
Lead time for sports leggings
Sports leggings sample in the usual 7 to 14 days when the fabric is available, and bulk runs 30 to 60 days after the PP sample is approved. A warp knit developed to your weight and elastane share, a wicking finish with its lab report, or a nominated zip each add days before cutting. Expect 60 to 90 days from order confirmation to shipment, confirmed in the quote.
What we check on sports leggings before shipment
- Deep squat opacityA PP sample is worn in a deep squat under bright light and photographed from behind in each colour, since a bright shade can fail where black passes.
- Flatlock seam stretchSeams are stretched to the fabric's working stretch to look for cracked stitches, the first failure on a training inseam.
- Gusset set flatThe gusset is checked for size, symmetry and a flat join, because a twisted gusset rubs and puckers in use.
- Pocket under loadA phone sized weight goes in each thigh pocket to check the pocket does not sag or drag the waistband down.
Questions buyers ask about sports leggings
Should sports leggings be nylon or polyester?
Nylon elastane for running and training lines that need a cool, smooth hand and resistance to rubbing; polyester elastane when price matters or the design is sublimation printed. Many brands use nylon for the core range and polyester for prints, and both can be quoted in the same style.
How do you make sports leggings squat proof?
Mostly with fabric: enough weight, a tight construction and elastane that recovers. The check is a deep squat on the PP sample under bright light, photographed in each colour. Fix a failure at fabric stage, because no sewing method rescues a sheer cloth.
Can I print moisture wicking on the hangtag?
Only with a test behind it. Ask for AATCC 197 and, for drying claims, AATCC 195, on fabric washed the number of times you set. A wicking finish can fade with washing, so a result on unwashed fabric alone does not support a claim on the garment.
Do sports leggings need a gusset?
For anything sold for training, yes. Without one, four seams meet at the crotch, which is where a legging splits in a lunge. The gusset adds a pattern piece and a few minutes of sewing, small against the cost of a return.
