We do not have a tannery or a leather goods unit on the bench yet.

This is a category we are building. Send the enquiry anyway and we will find and vet a unit, visit it, and come back inside 5 working days with either a real quote or a straight no. We will not claim a capability we do not have, and we will not take an order we cannot stand on the floor and inspect.

If you already work with a unit here and want us to manage the quality and the shipping, say so in the enquiry. That we can do from day one.

Braided leather belts, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

A braided belt is plaited from strips of leather between a solid buckle tab and a solid tip, so the prong passes between strands instead of through punched holes. Casual menswear, resort and summer ranges buy it as a relaxed alternative to a plain strap. A braided leather belt manufacturer in Bangladesh sells hand time more than leather: every crossing is placed by a person, which shapes the price, the output per week and the consistency between belts.

Garments Hub BD has no belt unit standing ready for braided styles. The desk finds a unit with braiders already working on hand plaited belts, vets and visits it, and replies within 5 working days with a real quote or a straight no.

Kinds of braided leather belt

Flat cut-strand braid

Five to eight strands, each typically 4 to 8 mm wide, plaited flat and stitched into a solid buckle tab. The standard braided belt; strand width decides whether it reads fine or chunky.

Round cord braid

Round leather cord, often 3 to 5 mm across, plaited into a thick rounded belt. Softer and more casual, with more give, and slower to plait because the cords are thin.

Two-colour braid

Strands in two colours or two leathers, such as smooth with suede. Each colour needs its own approval, and the pattern repeat has to land the same way on every belt.

Braided panel belt

A braided section between solid leather ends, with a few punched holes kept near the tip. Less hand time than a full braid, and easier to size.

What a braided leather belt manufacturer in Bangladesh needs from you

Strand width and count
Width of each strand in millimetres and the number of strands. Thinner strands mean more crossings per belt, a finer look and more hand time.
Strand leather
Usually a soft, strong chrome tanned lace leather or a drum dyed cow, around 1.2 to 1.8 mm. Leather dyed right through hides the cut edge of every strand.
Strand edges
Raw, dyed or rolled. A pale core on a dark strand shows at every crossing, so state how edges are treated.
Braid pitch
Crossings per 10 cm, agreed on the sample and measured on bulk. Pitch sets the length, the give and how tight the braid feels.
End tabs
Solid leather at the buckle end and the tip, and how the strands are anchored: stitched, riveted or both.
Buckle and prong
A prong with a rounded tip that slips between strands without splitting them, and a frame deep enough for the braid's thickness.
Length allowance
Finished length per size, allowing for the braid lengthening in wear. Many ranges size braided belts S to XL.

Tests and certificates for braided leather belts

REACH Annex XVII, entry 47 (chromium VI)
Lace leather for braiding is usually chrome tanned, and the 3 mg/kg chromium VI limit applies wherever the strands touch skin. Ask for a test on each lace colour.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 43 (azo dyes)
Two-colour and bright summer braids use more dyes than a black strap, and dyes releasing listed amines above 30 mg/kg are restricted. The report should cover each strand colour.
LWG
Lace leather comes from a tannery that may hold a Leather Working Group rating of gold, silver, bronze or audited. If your buyer requires one, it limits which laces the unit can buy.

What moves the price of a braided leather belt

  • Strand count and width: more, thinner strands mean more crossings and more hand time per belt.
  • Lace leather dyed right through, so cut edges need no colouring.
  • Two-colour patterns, which need matched lots and a repeat that lands the same way.
  • Anchoring at the end tabs: stitched and riveted against stitched only.
  • A full braid against a braided panel with solid ends.

Lead time for braided leather belts

A braided leather belt usually samples in 10 to 18 days, with bulk in 40 to 65 days after pre-production approval. Bulk depends on how many braiders the unit can put on the order, since each belt is plaited by hand, so a large run or a fine strand braid sits toward the end of that range. Custom lace colours add dyeing days. Dates are fixed in the quote.

What we check on braided leather belts before shipment

  • Braid pitchCrossings counted over 10 cm on sampled belts against the approved sample; uneven pitch means uneven tension between braiders.
  • Strand edges and splitsEvery strand checked for pale cut edges, nicks and splits at the crossings.
  • Growth under loadA sampled belt hung with a weight and its length measured again; growth stays within the agreed allowance.
  • End tab securityStrands at the buckle tab and the tip pulled hard; none slip or show loose ends.

Questions buyers ask about braided leather belts

How does a braided belt fit without holes?

The prong goes through any gap between strands, so the wearer can fasten it at almost any point along the braid. That makes sizing forgiving, with fewer sizes than a holed belt needs. The tip still needs a solid leather end so it passes the keeper cleanly.

Which strand width suits a men's casual braid?

Strands of around 5 to 7 mm in a 30 to 35 mm belt look relaxed without looking heavy. Wider strands of 8 mm and up look chunky and suit summer ranges; narrow strands of 3 to 4 mm read dressier and take much longer to plait. Approve width on a sample, not on a drawing.

Will a braided belt stretch in wear?

Yes, a little, as the strands settle and the crossings close up. Chrome tanned lace stretches more than a firmer leather. Allow for it in the finished length, and agree a stretch check on bulk: hang a belt with a weight for a set time, then measure it again.

Why does a braided belt cost more than a plain strap?

The leather is a small part of it. A plain strap is cut by machine in moments; a braided belt is plaited by hand, crossing by crossing, and its end tabs are stitched on. Fine strands and two colours add more hand time. The price follows the labour, not the hide.
