Cricket jerseys, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label
Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.
A cricket jersey is worn for hours in the sun, so it has to breathe, stretch across the shoulder for bowling and throwing, and keep its colour. Whites for the long format and sublimated coloured kits for limited overs are two different jobs on the same 150 to 180 GSM polyester elastane base. Clubs, schools, kit suppliers and sports labels buy both. A cricket jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh wins repeat orders on whites that neither grey nor yellow.
Garments Hub BD asks both factories to quote the same white base cloth, so whiteness is compared as well as price, and the white is approved at the lab dip stage against a reference you keep. If your market needs a UPF report, ask for it on the quote form and the test is built into the timeline.
Kinds of cricket jersey
Long sleeve whites
The traditional long format shirt in bright white or a natural off white, with a knitted collar and a short button placket. Long sleeves cover the arms through a day in the field; pick the lighter weight for hot countries.
Short sleeve whites
The same white body with short sleeves, preferred by many bowlers and in warm seasons. Cut it from the same fabric lot as the long sleeve shirts and the two styles match in shade.
Coloured limited overs jersey
Fully sublimated in team colours, with names, numbers and sponsor marks in the print and a self fabric or knitted collar. It is lighter in feel and takes artwork anywhere on the shirt.
Training top
A plain or simply printed short sleeve top for nets and warm ups, often in the club colour rather than white. It is the cheaper garment in a kit order and is washed more often than the match shirts.
How to specify a cricket jersey
- White base cloth
- Say which white you want, bright with optical brighteners or a natural off white, and approve it against a physical reference that both sides keep.
- Elastane
- Usually 3 to 8 percent for reach in the shoulder. State the share, because more stretch changes the drape of the shirt and its price.
- Collar and placket
- Knitted rib collar or self fabric, a two or three button placket and the button colour. The collar is the first thing a team photograph shows.
- Sleeve length
- Long or short, and for long sleeves the cuff: rib, hemmed or open. Give sleeve length per size, measured from the centre back neck.
- Sun protection
- If the label will carry a UPF figure, name the market and the test, and expect a closer or heavier knit to reach it.
- Logos on whites
- Embroidery, heat transfer or sublimation on white each wear differently in the wash; give every logo size and position on the sketch.
Tests to ask a cricket jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh for
- AS/NZS 4399
- The test and classification behind a UPF claim on sun protective clothing, the method buyers in Australia and New Zealand look for on a cricket shirt.
- EN 13758-2
- UV protective clothing classification and marking in the EU; a cricket shirt may carry the EU UV mark only when it reaches UPF 40 or above.
- ISO 105-B02
- Optical brighteners and bright team colours both fade in sunlight, so ask for the light fastness grade, read on the 1 to 8 blue wool scale.
- ISO 105-C06
- Coloured piping, trims or a sublimated logo on a white shirt must not bleed into it in the wash; read the staining grade onto white.
What moves the price of a cricket jersey
- Whiteness grade: a controlled bright white base cloth costs more than a standard white.
- Elastane share: more elastane raises the yarn cost and slows knitting.
- Collar and placket: a knitted collar, buttons and a sewn placket add pieces and operations.
- Sleeve length: long sleeves take more fabric and add cuffs.
- UPF testing: a lab report for a sun protection label is paid per fabric, not per shirt.
Lead time for cricket jerseys
Whites need their own approval before bulk, when the base cloth is checked for whiteness at the lab dip stage. A cricket jersey usually samples in 7 to 14 days, and a cricket kit's bulk follows 30 to 60 days after the PP sample is signed. A UPF test, a coloured kit with new artwork or a bought in knitted collar each add days. Ordered together, whites and coloured kits run as two lines on one timeline, each confirmed in the quote.
What we check on cricket jerseys before shipment
- Whiteness by lotWhite bodies from each fabric lot are compared under one light against the approved reference, since two whites side by side show any gap.
- Yellowing in the packPacked whites are opened to check folds and edges for yellow marks, the sign of phenolic yellowing from packaging.
- Collar and placket lineCollar points sit level, the placket runs straight and the buttons line up with their holes on long and short sleeves alike.
- Trim bleedWashed samples with coloured piping or logos are checked for any staining on the white body around them.
Questions buyers ask about cricket jerseys
Why do white cricket shirts turn yellow in storage?
Often it is phenolic yellowing: antioxidants such as BHT in some polybags and cartons react with pollutants in the air, and whites with optical brighteners show it first. Ask for BHT free packaging and a yellowing check on packed whites before shipment.
Can a cricket jersey carry a UPF label?
Yes, if the fabric is tested and passes for the market where it is sold. Australia and New Zealand use AS/NZS 4399, and in the EU the UV mark needs UPF 40 or above under EN 13758-2. Ask for the test on the quote form so it sits in the timeline.
Can long and short sleeve whites go in one order?
Yes, and it helps. Cutting both styles from the same white fabric lot keeps the shade identical across the squad. Each factory's minimum for a mixed order of two sleeve lengths comes back on the quote sheet. Approve one white reference for both styles before bulk.
Do coloured kits need a different factory from whites?
Not usually. The same knit plants sublimate coloured kits and sew whites, but whites need tighter control of the base cloth. Send both in one enquiry so the quote prices the white cloth and the printed cloth as separate lines.
