High rise leggings sit above the natural waist, often at or over the navel, with a band deep enough to smooth the stomach and hold through a bend. Activewear brands, shapewear labels and fashion basics ranges buy them, and their returns cluster on one complaint, the band. A high rise leggings manufacturer in Bangladesh is judged here on band depth, band tension and how rise and waist are graded with the hip, more than on the leg fabric.
Both bench factories quote the same band build, so the comparison sheet shows what the power mesh and extra panels cost rather than two different garments. Fit samples come before the PP sample, and that is the stage to cure a band that rolls on the fit model; once bulk is cut, the band is fixed.
Kinds of high rise leggings by band
Folded self fabric band
A double layer of the leg fabric, usually 8 to 10 cm deep when finished, with no elastic. Smooth under a fitted top and soft at the edge, but it relies on fabric recovery to stay up.
Power mesh lined band
An inner panel of power mesh at the front or all round. It flattens and holds more firmly; the mesh must be cut and graded to the band or it puckers.
Elastic channel band
Covered elastic in a channel at the top edge of a self fabric band. A low cost cure for roll down, but a narrow elastic can dig in on larger sizes.
Crossover front band
Two band pieces overlapping in a V at the front. A styling detail that adds a layer over the stomach; the overlap must be stitched so it does not open when seated.
Contoured back yoke
A curved seam or V panel below the band at the back that lifts the seat and closes the gap a straight band leaves at the small of the back.
What to send a high rise leggings manufacturer in Bangladesh
- Front and back rise
- Both rises per size in centimetres, from the crotch seam to the top edge of the band, so the band lands at the navel in every size.
- Band depth
- The finished depth, typically 7 to 12 cm, with a tolerance. A band cut a centimetre shallower than the approved sample is often the one that rolls.
- Band tension
- Relaxed and stretched waist per size. Too little tension rolls down, too much digs in and marks the skin.
- Band construction
- Self fabric, power mesh, elastic channel or crossover, the number of layers, and which seams are flatlocked and which are bound.
- Waist graded with hip
- Grade band circumference, rise and hip together. A band graded on waist alone gaps on a small size and cuts in on a large one.
- Fit sizes
- Name the base fit size and one larger size to try on, because a band that sits well on a size 10 can roll on a size 18.
Tests for high rise leggings
- ISO 105-E04
- Colour fastness to perspiration. The band sits where sweat gathers and a dark band can mark a pale top; ask for grades on the band fabric and the mesh.
- AATCC 150
- Dimensional change of the whole garment after home laundering. It shows whether band and leg shrink at different rates, which puckers the seam joining them.
- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
- A harmful substances test. Mesh and elastic lie flat on the stomach for hours, so the certificate should cover every component, not only the leg fabric.
What moves the price of high rise leggings
- Band depth and layers: a double band with a mesh lining uses more fabric and more operations.
- Power mesh: a second fabric with its own lab dip, marker and cutting.
- Extra panels: a back yoke or crossover front adds cutting, matching and sewing time.
- Size range: a wide range needs more graded bands and more fit checks.
- Fit rounds: a band reworked after the fit sample adds a sample charge before bulk.
Lead time for high rise leggings
High rise leggings follow the usual 7 to 14 days for a sample and 30 to 60 days for bulk after written PP approval, with 60 to 90 days typical from order confirmation to shipment. The band is where extra time goes: a second fit round to cure roll down, or a lab dip so the mesh matches the leg, adds days. The quote confirms each date.
What we check on high rise leggings before shipment
- Band depth on every sizeFinished band depth is measured on each graded size, since a band cut short in one size rolls on that size only.
- Seated roll testA fit model sits, bends and stands in the PP sample to see whether the band folds over at its top edge.
- Centre back alignmentThe band join is checked against the centre back seam; an offset join twists the band once the pair is on.
- Mesh shadowPale pairs are checked for the inner mesh showing through as a darker panel across the front.
Questions buyers ask about high rise leggings
Why do high rise leggings roll down?
Usually because the band is too shallow, too soft or too loose for the size, or the back rise is short and the band is dragged down when the wearer sits. The fix is in the pattern and band build, tested on a seated fit model, not in a heavier leg fabric.
Power mesh or elastic for a high rise band?
Power mesh holds the stomach flat across the whole band depth; elastic holds only at the top edge, where it can dig in. Mesh costs more and needs its own lab dip. Many ranges use mesh for training lines and a folded self fabric band for lounge.
How should a high rise band be graded across sizes?
With the hip and the rise, not the waist alone. Larger sizes need more rise as well as more circumference, and the band should feel equally firm at each size. Send relaxed and stretched waist per size and fit at least two sizes before bulk.
How high is high rise on leggings?
There is no fixed figure; it is a position on the body. Most buyers mean a band top at or above the navel, and extra high rise reaches higher still. Write the front rise in centimetres per size, because the phrase alone is read differently by each factory.
