We do not have a tannery or a leather garment unit on the bench yet.

This is a category we are building. Send the enquiry anyway and we will find and vet a unit, visit it, and come back inside 5 working days with either a real quote or a straight no. We will not claim a capability we do not have, and we will not take an order we cannot stand on the floor and inspect.

If you already work with a unit here and want us to manage the quality and the shipping, say so in the enquiry. That we can do from day one.

A leather blazer is a tailoring make in a material that cannot be pressed, fused or unpicked like cloth. The lapel has to roll, the chest has to hold its shape and every pocket opening is cut once. Fashion brands, menswear labels and womenswear ranges order it in soft sheep or goat nappa and in suede. A leather blazer manufacturer in Bangladesh needs tailoring skill as well as leather skill, a pairing few biker jacket lines have.

Garments Hub BD has no leather garment unit lined up in advance. For a blazer enquiry the desk looks for a unit that already cuts tailored leather, looks at its lapels, welts and linings on the floor, and replies within 5 working days with a real quote or a straight no. Your pattern goes to that unit for your order only.

Kinds of leather blazer

Two button notch lapel blazer

The single breasted classic: notch lapel, two buttons, flap or jetted hip pockets and a chest welt. Cut in sheep or goat nappa, it is the style most leather tailoring ranges start with, for men and women alike.

Three button and double breasted blazers

A three button front with a higher lapel break, or a double breasted front with peak lapels and six buttons. The double breasted overlap puts more leather across the front and more buttonholes to cut.

Women's oversized blazer

Dropped shoulder, longer body and a looser sleeve, often worn open over knitwear. Longer fronts need longer clean panels, so the hide grade and the panel plan matter more here than on a fitted cut.

Suede blazer

Goat or sheep suede, softer and more casual, often half lined. Suede shows pressure marks and water spots, and its nap has to run the same way on every panel or the shade appears to change.

What a leather blazer manufacturer in Bangladesh needs from you

Leather and thickness
Sheep or goat nappa or suede, usually 0.6 to 0.8 mm for a blazer. Thicker leather stops the lapel rolling; thinner leather lets the chest piece and pocket bags show through.
Chest and lapel shape
A canvas chest piece stitched on the facing side, shoulder pads by thickness and a sleeve head roll. Hot fusing can mark or shrink leather, so agree any fusible on a trial panel.
Pockets
Jetted, flap or patch hip pockets and the chest welt. A misplaced welt cannot be recut without a scar, so pocket positions are fixed on the fit sample.
Seams and edges
Seams opened, glued and hammered flat, or topstitched. A clean, untopstitched edge looks dressier but shows any waviness along the front.
Lining
Full lining in viscose or cupro, or a half lining with exposed seams bound. A smooth sleeve lining lets the blazer slide on over a shirt.
Buttons and buttonholes
Horn, corozo or metal buttons by size, buttonholes bound with a leather strip or stitched as keyholes, and sleeve buttons working or fixed.

Tests and rules for leather blazers

REACH Annex XVII, entry 47 (chromium VI)
A blazer touches skin at the collar and cuffs, so chrome tanned nappa or suede in it falls under the 3 mg/kg chromium VI limit. The report should cover every leather colour in the order.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 27 (nickel release)
Metal front and sleeve buttons resting on skin fall under the limit of 0.5 micrograms per square centimetre per week. Horn and corozo buttons carry no nickel to test.
ISO 105-E04
Colour fastness to perspiration, run on the lining. Underarm and back linings sit in sweat all day, and a dark lining that bleeds will mark a shirt.

What moves the price of a leather blazer

  • Leather type and grade: long clean fronts with the lapel cut in one push the grade up.
  • Skin use: a hip length blazer with leather facings usually takes more leather than a waist length biker.
  • Tailoring work: canvas chest, shoulder pads, sleeve heads and hand finishing at the lapel.
  • Jetted pockets and bound buttonholes, both slow work for skilled hands.
  • Lining: a full cupro or viscose lining against a half lining with bound seams.

Lead time for leather blazers

A leather blazer usually samples in 14 to 21 days, and tailoring often needs a second fit round to settle the lapel roll and the shoulder. Bulk usually takes 45 to 75 days after the pre-production sample is approved. Nappa dyed to your colour, imported buttons or a chromium VI test per colour each add days, and the quote gives your dates.

What we check on leather blazers before shipment

  • Lapel rollBoth lapels roll from the same break point and lie flat to the chest on a form, with no bubbling over the canvas.
  • Pocket weltsWelt corners square and closed, no cut marks beyond the opening, and flaps at the same height on both sides.
  • Front edge lineThe front edge runs straight and flat from lapel to hem, with no waves where a glued allowance has shrunk.
  • Sleeve pitchBoth sleeves hang forward evenly, and the shoulder line is smooth with no dent at the sleeve head.

Questions buyers ask about leather blazers

Can our wool blazer pattern be used for a leather blazer?

Not as it stands. Leather will not ease into a sleeve head or shrink under the iron, so the pattern needs less ease at the sleeve cap, seam allowances suited to glued seams, and some darts turned into seams. The unit adapts it at the proto stage, and the first fit sample shows what changed.

Why does a leather blazer cost more than a leather biker?

The biker carries more hardware, but the blazer has longer clean fronts, leather facings and undercollar, a canvas chest, jetted pockets and bound buttonholes. More of each skin is lost cutting long panels with the lapel in one. Ask for the square feet planned per blazer in the sample size.

Should a leather blazer be fully or half lined?

Fully lined for autumn and winter, and for a sleeve that slides over a shirt. Half lined for spring ranges and suede blazers sold as a lighter, casual piece, though the exposed seams then need binding or a clean glued finish, which takes time of its own.

How is a leather blazer cleaned?

By a specialist leather cleaner rather than an ordinary dry cleaner, and the care label should say so. Marks on nappa usually wipe off with a damp cloth, and suede needs a brush. A stain repellent finish on suede helps, so ask whether the tannery can apply one before cutting.
