Cycling jerseys, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

A cycling jersey has more parts than most jerseys a knit factory makes: a three or five panel body, a zip with a garage at the collar, rear pockets loaded with food and a phone, and a gripper hem that stops the back riding up on the bike. Clubs, sportive and charity ride organisers, race teams and cycling labels buy it, usually sublimated in the club design. A cycling jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh needs a fit round on a rider to get it right.

Garments Hub BD asks both factories to quote the same panel layout, zip and pocket build, so the comparison is never a five panel jersey against a three panel one. If your club wants its own eyes on the bulk, a third party inspector of your choice can be booked, and that report overrules ours.

Kinds of cycling jersey

Race fit jersey

Cut close in a light, stretchy knit with sleeves to just above the elbow and raw cut or bonded sleeve ends. Choose it for racing and fast group rides; the cut leaves no room for grading errors.

Club fit jersey

A relaxed cut in a slightly heavier knit with hemmed sleeves, for club runs and events where riders vary widely in build. It fits more members from fewer sizes and forgives an imperfect size chart.

Long sleeve thermal jersey

Brushed back polyester elastane with a smooth outer face for autumn and winter riding, usually full zip. The smooth face still takes sublimation, so the club design carries over from the summer kit.

Bib shorts with chamois pad

The related item: compressive polyester or nylon elastane shorts with bib straps and a sewn in chamois pad. Order them with the jerseys for a full kit; the pad is a bought in component chosen by ride length.

How to specify a cycling jersey

Panel layout
Three panel or five panel body, and which panels are mesh. More panels fit closer on the bike but give the artwork more seams to cross.
Zip
Full or quarter length, coil gauge, a locking slider that stays where the rider sets it, and a zip garage folded over the top so the slider never rubs the chin.
Rear pockets
Usually three, sometimes with a zipped fourth for keys. Give pocket depth and the bar tack positions, because loaded pockets pull hard at the corners.
Gripper hem
A silicone gripper elastic, usually 3 to 5 cm wide, or silicone dots printed on a raw cut hem. Say which, and whether it runs all round or only across the back.
Sleeves
Raglan or set in, sleeve length, and the sleeve end: hemmed, raw cut or a bonded gripper band.
Fit and size chart
Body measurements for each size plus the fit, race or club, so the factory grades to a rider on a bike and not to a tee block.

Tests to ask a cycling jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh for

ISO 105-B02
Jerseys spend whole days in direct sun on long rides, so test bright club colours for light fastness, graded 1 to 8 against blue wool.
ISO 105-E04
Sweat soaks the back and underarm panels for hours, and a dark print there should hold its colour; ask for the perspiration grade.
ISO 12947
Martindale abrasion on the bib short panels that rub the saddle with every pedal stroke, the point in a cycling kit that wears through first.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 27
Metal zip sliders and pullers in direct and prolonged contact with the skin must not release nickel above the limit; check them on kits sold in the EU.

What moves the price of a cycling jersey

  • Panel count: a five panel body has more pieces, more seams and more print alignment than a three panel.
  • Zip: a full length zip with a locking slider costs more than a quarter zip.
  • Pockets: three bar tacked pockets and a zipped fourth add several operations per jersey.
  • Gripper: silicone elastic is a bought trim, while printed dots need a separate process.
  • Bib shorts: the chamois pad is often the largest single cost in the shorts.

Lead time for cycling jerseys

Plan for a fit round on a rider. The first cycling jersey sample usually arrives within 7 to 14 days, but a race fit often needs a second fit sample before the PP sample, which adds another sample round. Cycling kit bulk then takes 30 to 60 days from the written PP approval. Bib shorts can add days if the chosen pad has to be ordered in. The quote confirms the dates against your event.

What we check on cycling jerseys before shipment

  • Gripper tensionThe gripper is stretched and released to check its tension and that the silicone has not lifted from the elastic or the printed hem.
  • Pocket bar tacksEach rear pocket is loaded and pulled at the corners to check the bar tacks hold and the pockets sit level across the back.
  • Zip on a stretched bodyWith the jersey stretched over a form, the zip is checked for ripple, and the garage for full cover over the slider.
  • Art across panelsClub artwork is followed across side and shoulder panels on the smallest and largest sizes to confirm it continues unbroken.

Questions buyers ask about cycling jerseys

Why is a sample round not optional for a cycling jersey?

Because the fit is the product. A race cut two centimetres short in the back or tight in the upper arm is unwearable on the bike, and only a rider in the riding position shows it. Budget a fit sample, ride in it, then approve the PP sample.

Can we order bib shorts with the jerseys?

Yes, as a related item in the same enquiry. Name the fabric, the bib strap style and the chamois pad grade, since pads differ in foam density and thickness for short or long rides. Shorts and jerseys each get their own size run.

Race fit or club fit for a club order?

Club fit for most clubs: members vary in build, and a relaxed cut fits more of them from fewer sizes. Race fit suits racing squads and riders who ask for it. Many clubs order both cuts in the same design.

Can a club with riders in many sizes reach the minimum?

Usually, when the club orders one design in one colourway across every size and both cuts, since the minimum is counted per colour. Each factory's minimum for your size spread comes back on the quote sheet. Splitting the design into extra colourways raises the total, since each colour carries its own minimum.
