Lace underwear, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

Lace underwear covers the pieces where lace carries the design: lace bras and bralettes, matched lace sets, and lace trimmed nightwear such as chemises and slips. Buyers are lingerie labels, bridal and gift ranges, and fashion brands with an intimates line. A lace underwear manufacturer in Bangladesh usually buys the lace from a lace mill, often stretch raschel in nylon elastane, and sews it on lingerie lines with fine needles and zigzag joins.

Lace drives the time, the minimum and the look of this product, so Garments Hub BD puts the lace question first: stock lace or your own design, its width, stretch and colour, and who buys it. That answer moves the price and the date more than anything else in the brief. Lace panels are checked for snags at inspection, and every stage is photographed for you.

Kinds of lace underwear and lingerie

Lace bralettes

Wire free, often unlined or lightly lined, with the galloon scallop finishing the cup edge. A bralette shows its lace more than any other piece, so the lace choice is the design.

Lined lace bras

Lace laid over a moulded or seamed cup, with or without wire. The lace is a top layer, so it has to move with the cup and not pucker at the edges.

Lace sets from one lot

Bra and brief, or bralette and thong, cut from the same lace lot so shade and pattern match. Plan the lace quantity for the whole set, not piece by piece.

Lace nightwear

Chemises, babydolls and slips in satin finish microfibre or jersey, with lace at the neckline and hem. Longer pieces use more lace trim and are packed on hangers or folded with tissue.

How to brief a lace underwear manufacturer in Bangladesh

Lace type
Raschel lace knitted on warp machines for most ranges, galloon with a scallop on both edges for cup tops and hems, eyelash lace with cut thread edges for a softer finish.
Stretch or rigid
Stretch lace with elastane for bralettes and briefs; rigid lace only where it is backed, such as over a moulded cup or as an applique.
Width and repeat
Give the lace width, typically 5 to 25 cm for galloon, and the pattern repeat. Scallop placement on the cup decides how many pieces fit across the lace.
Sourcing route
Stock lace from a mill's range dyed to your shade, or a new design. State who buys it, the factory or you, because that changes the quote and the lead time.
Elastic lace trims
Narrow elastic lace for the leg, underband or straps, with its width and stretch. Dye it in the same lot as the main lace wherever they sit side by side.
Lot control
Ask for all pieces of a set to be cut from one lace lot, with lot numbers written on the cutting record.

Tests for lace lingerie

ISO 13938
Bursting strength of knit fabric, which covers raschel lace. Fine open lace can burst where it stretches over a cup; set a minimum and test the bulk lot.
ISO 105-C06
Washing fastness with a staining result. Black or red lace over a white cup lining or a nude jersey brief is the classic staining risk on a lace set.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 43
Lace dyed at a separate mill still has to meet the EU limit of 30 mg/kg for azo dyes releasing listed amines. Ask for the lace mill's own report, not only the garment factory's.

What moves the price of lace underwear

  • Lace type and width: a wide galloon costs more per metre than a narrow raschel trim.
  • Cutting waste where scallops are placed on cups, which can leave much of the lace unused.
  • Custom dyeing, which carries the lace mill's own minimum per colour.
  • Hand work: zigzag joins and trimming lace close to the stitch take skilled time.
  • Nightwear length, since a chemise uses far more lace trim than a brief.

Lead time for lace underwear

Lace sets the clock on this product. On stock lace, samples usually take 7 to 14 days, and bulk typically 30 to 60 days after PP approval. Dyeing a stock lace to your shade usually adds two to three weeks before cutting; a new lace design takes longer and is quoted on its own. Matched sets wait for the slowest lace. The quote confirms the dates.

What we check on lace underwear before shipment

  • Scallop placementScallops sit symmetric on both cups and both legs, with no cut scallop at a visible edge.
  • Snags and pulled threadsLace panels checked against light for snags, pulled loops and holes, which happen at cutting and sewing.
  • Set lot matchPieces of each set compared side by side for shade and pattern, with the lace lot number checked.
  • Elastic trim tensionElastic lace at leg and underband sewn at even tension, so the edge does not wave.

Questions buyers ask about lace underwear

Should we use stock lace or develop our own?

Start with stock lace for a first order: it is quicker, can be dyed to your shade and carries a lower minimum. A new design gives you a pattern no one else sells, but the mill sets its minimum and development time. Many brands move to their own lace once a style reorders.

Why does a lace order take longer than a plain one?

Because the lace is bought in and usually dyed for your order before cutting starts. That step sits between PP approval and bulk cutting, and it only runs in parallel if you approve ordering the lace at sample stage.

Can one lace lot cover the bra, the brief and the nightwear?

Yes, if the lace for all three is ordered together and dyed in one lot. Separate lots can differ slightly in shade, even from the same mill. Order the full set quantity at once and ask for the lot numbers on the cutting record.

Stretch lace or rigid lace for a bralette?

Stretch lace, almost always. A bralette has no wire or moulded cup, so the lace itself has to stretch and recover. Rigid lace works as an overlay on a lined or moulded cup, where the cup takes the strain.
