A snapback cap is a structured six panel cap with a high crown, a flat peak and a plastic snap strap at the back. The flat peak and tall front make it a separate block from a baseball cap, not the same cap with the curve pressed out. Streetwear labels and sports teams buy it for large front embroidery and a contrast undervisor. A snapback cap manufacturer in Bangladesh needs crown height and peak build stated, or it works from its own block.
The desk looks for a unit with a high crown block and flat peak inserts that stay flat, visits to see caps coming off the line, and takes in your crown height, undervisor colour and 3D embroidery artwork. Undervisor and snap colours are confirmed on the PP sample, since streetwear buyers check those details first.
Kinds of snapback cap
Wool blend snapbacks
An acrylic and wool blend crown with a felted, matt face, often with a contrast peak. Choose it for autumn and winter drops; it holds 3D embroidery well and needs a fibre content label.
Cotton twill snapbacks
Cotton or polyester twill, lighter and easier to wash. Choose it for year round ranges and team merchandise; it takes flat and 3D embroidery.
Two tone snapbacks
Crown, peak and top button in different colours, sometimes with contrast side panels. Choose it for team colours; each colour is a separate fabric lot to match.
Mid crown flat peak caps
A flat peak on a lower crown, for buyers who want the look without the height. Choose it for a wider fit range, and give the crown height, since it sits between two blocks.
Printed undervisor snapbacks
A print or pattern on the underside of the peak instead of a plain colour. Choose it as a collector detail; it needs printed fabric cut to the peak.
How to specify a snapback cap
- Crown height
- High crown fronts usually stand about 9.5 to 11 cm. Give the number and the profile, and send a reference cap if you have one.
- Peak
- Flat, its length and width, the insert thickness that keeps it flat, and the number of stitching rows on top.
- Undervisor colour
- Green, grey, black, matching or printed. Name it, or the unit fills it with its stock colour.
- Snap strap
- Plastic snap in the crown colour or a contrast, and the finish of the opening above it, often a bound arch.
- Embroidery
- Front 3D puff or flat, side and back logos, and stitch counts. 3D puff needs artwork drawn for it, with no fine lines.
- Fabric content
- Wool blend percentages for the label, or twill weight, and whether crown and peak share one fabric.
Tests and certificates for snapback caps
- Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011
- Sets EU fibre names and content declaration. A wool and acrylic blend snapback crown is labelled with each fibre and its share by weight.
- ISO 105-X12
- Rubbing fastness on dark crowns and contrast undervisors, which are handled at the peak every time the snapback is put on or adjusted.
- ISO 2859-1
- The AQL sampling tables. AQL 2.5 for major defects is common; some streetwear buyers set 1.5, a strict level, because collectors inspect every stitch.
What moves the price at a snapback cap manufacturer in Bangladesh
- 3D puff: foam under the stitch and denser stitching cost more than flat embroidery.
- Fabric: a wool blend crown costs more per metre than cotton twill.
- Colour count: two tone crowns, a contrast peak and a contrast undervisor each add a fabric lot.
- Extra logos: each side or back embroidery position is another hooping on a finished cap.
- Retail finish: a peak sticker, hang tag and box pack add trims beyond a plain polybag.
Lead time for snapback caps
Snapback samples usually take 10 to 14 days, and bulk usually 35 to 50 days after the PP cap is approved. A 3D puff logo often needs a second sew out to get clean edges, and a printed undervisor or dyed wool blend fabric adds its own days. A drop date fixed in advance belongs on the enquiry. The quote holds the dates.
What we check on snapback caps before shipment
- Peak flatnessPeaks are laid on a flat table to check for warp or lift, and measured for length and width.
- High front shapeThe front is checked for a straight vertical line with no caving, and crown height measured against the specification.
- Undervisor colourThe underside is checked against the approved colour or print on every sampled cap.
- 3D puff edgesPuff embroidery is checked for foam showing through, clean edges and even height across the logo.
Questions buyers ask about snapback caps
Can a snapback have a curved peak?
It can, but buyers searching for a snapback usually expect a flat peak and a high crown. A curved peak with a snap back is closer to a baseball cap with a snap closure. Write flat or curved on the specification, with the peak length.
What colour should the undervisor be?
Your choice, and worth specifying. Green and grey undervisors give a classic look, black and matching colours are common now, and a printed underside adds a detail. Leave it blank and the unit uses its stock colour.
Does every logo work in 3D puff?
No. Puff works on bold shapes with wide columns; thin lines and small text collapse or show foam. Have the artwork drawn for puff, and approve a sew out on the real fabric before bulk.
Will a high crown snapback fit small heads?
The snap usually adjusts across about 55 to 60 cm, but a high crown can sit tall on small heads. A mid crown version with the same flat peak widens the fit. Some labels also sell fitted versions in sizes, which need a full size run and more stock per style.
