Touchscreen gloves, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

Touchscreen gloves let the wearer use a phone without taking a glove off. Accessory labels, sports brands and promotional buyers order them for winter, often as knitted gloves in several colours. A touchscreen glove manufacturer in Bangladesh either knits conductive yarn into the fingertips of a knitted glove or sews a conductive patch or thread into a leather or fabric one. The feature has no grades: on the screen it works or it does not.

Garments Hub BD has no glove unit vetted yet. For a touchscreen brief the desk finds units that knit or sew conductive fingertips, visits one, has your sample pair tried on current phones, and replies within 5 working days with a real quote or a straight no.

Kinds of touchscreen glove

Knitted gloves with conductive tips

Acrylic, wool blend or polyester knitted on a glove machine, with conductive yarn plated into the thumb and index fingertips. The cheapest version and the one ordered in volume for retail and promotions.

All finger conductive knits

Conductive yarn in all five fingertips, or blended through the whole glove. Any finger works on the screen, which suits typing with several fingers, at the cost of more conductive yarn.

Leather gloves with a conductive patch

A small conductive leather or fabric insert at the fingertip, or conductive thread stitched into the tip. Chosen for fashion leather ranges; the insert must sit on the pad of the finger, not the end.

Running and cycling gloves

Stretch fabric gloves with a printed silicone grip on the palm and conductive tips, for runners and cyclists who use a phone or a bike computer outdoors.

Conductive liner gloves

Thin conductive knit liners worn on their own in mild weather, or under a ski glove or mitten so the outer can come off for the phone.

How to specify a touchscreen glove

Which fingers
Thumb and index finger is the usual set; some ranges add the middle finger or all five. Mark the conductive fingers on the sketch.
Conductive method
Conductive yarn knitted in, a sewn insert, or conductive thread stitched in a pattern. Ask what the yarn is, usually silver coated nylon, and how it fares in washing.
Tip position and size
The conductive area must land on the finger pad. State its size per glove size so it sits in the same place on a small and a large hand.
Lining under the tip
A lining between finger and patch must conduct too, or be cut away there, otherwise the glove will not work on a screen.
Devices to test on
List the phones and tablets your customers use. Capacitive screens differ in sensitivity, so test on a recent phone from each main operating system.
Washing claim
If the label says washable, give the wash method so the fingertips are tested after washing as well as new.

Tests to ask a touchscreen glove manufacturer in Bangladesh for

ISO 6330
The domestic washing and drying procedure used for textile testing. Wash sample pairs a stated number of times to it, then repeat the device check, since conductive yarns can wear in the wash.
ISO 5077
Dimensional change after washing. A knitted glove that shrinks moves the conductive zone off the finger pad, so measure the finished glove before and after washing.
ISO 105-X12
Rubbing fastness, dry and wet. Deep dyed knitted gloves rub against screens, phone cases and light coat cuffs, so ask for both grades on the finished knit.

What moves the price of a touchscreen glove

  • Conductive yarn costs more than the base yarn, so each extra conductive finger adds cost.
  • Leather versions add cutting and fitting of the conductive insert to every finger tip.
  • A conductive lining, or cutting the lining away under the tips, adds material or labour.
  • A silicone grip print on the palm adds a print step for each size.
  • Device testing at sample stage, and repeat testing after washing, add lab and handling time.

Lead time for touchscreen gloves

Touchscreen glove samples usually take 10 to 18 days; a first sample that fails the device check goes back for a second round, which adds days. Touchscreen bulk typically runs 40 to 65 days after the pre-production pair passes the device check and is signed. If the knitter has no conductive yarn in stock, ordering it adds time. The quote states the dates.

What we check on touchscreen gloves before shipment

  • Device check on sampled pairsEach sampled pair is tried on the agreed phones for tap, swipe and typing with every conductive finger.
  • Conductive zone positionThe zone is checked against the finger pad on each size, as a shifted zone misses the screen.
  • Insert edges on leatherConductive inserts on leather gloves are checked for gaps and lifted edges that catch and peel.
  • Both hands workLeft and right gloves are tested separately, since a pair with one dead fingertip is a faulty pair.

Questions buyers ask about touchscreen gloves

Does a touchscreen glove work on every phone?

On most capacitive touchscreens, which covers nearly every current phone and tablet. Sensitivity varies, so a glove that works well on one model can be patchy on another. Trying the sample on the devices your customers use is the only check worth relying on.

Will the touchscreen function survive washing?

It depends on the conductive yarn and how firmly it sits in the knit. Some conductive yarns keep working after many washes; coated threads can wear thin. Ask for the device check after a set number of washes and only print washable if the gloves pass.

Can leather gloves be made touchscreen?

Yes, with a conductive insert or conductive thread stitched into the fingertip. The leather route costs more than a knit and needs careful insert placement on every size, so the fit sample doubles as the first device check. Approve both on the same pair.

Can I add my logo to a knitted touchscreen glove?

Yes, by jacquard knitting, embroidery, a woven label or a print on the back of the hand. Keep logos away from the fingertips, as embroidery or print laid over the conductive zone can stop the touch working. Show the logo position on the sketch with a measurement from the cuff.
