We do not have a tannery or a leather goods unit on the bench yet.

This is a category we are building. Send the enquiry anyway and we will find and vet a unit, visit it, and come back inside 5 working days with either a real quote or a straight no. We will not claim a capability we do not have, and we will not take an order we cannot stand on the floor and inspect.

If you already work with a unit here and want us to manage the quality and the shipping, say so in the enquiry. That we can do from day one.

Wide leather belts, your specification

Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.

Private label

Your main label, care label, hangtag and polybag. Nominated trims accepted.

A wide belt runs from 45 mm up to waist belts of 80 mm or more, usually with a large buckle as its focal point. Fashion and womenswear brands buy it to cinch dresses, coats and high waisted trousers, often in seasonal colours and prints. A wide leather belt manufacturer in Bangladesh has to stop a broad strap curling at its edges, and that comes down to thickness, backing and the cut, not to the buckle.

Garments Hub BD has no belt unit set up beforehand for wide styles. The desk finds a unit already making wide and shaped belts, vets and visits it, and replies within 5 working days with a real quote or a straight no. Give your drop date with the enquiry, since fashion calendars leave little slack.

Kinds of wide leather belt

Straight hip belt

45 to 55 mm, cut straight, worn low on jeans or over a long knit. Needs a firm strap of around 4 mm to hold its line across the hips.

Contoured waist belt

60 to 100 mm, cut on a curve so it sits on the waist without gaping at the top edge. Cut with a press knife, usually in softer leather over a stiffened backing.

Wrap and tie belt

Soft leather with no buckle, long enough to wrap and knot, often with a wider centre panel. Thin and supple, so curl matters less and the edge finish matters more.

Double prong belt

Two rows of holes and a two-pronged buckle on straps of 50 mm and wider, so the pull spreads evenly across the width instead of tilting the strap.

Studded or eyelet belt

Metal studs, eyelets or grommets set through a wide strap by hand or press. Every stud back must sit smooth on the inside of the belt.

How to brief a wide leather belt manufacturer in Bangladesh

Width with thickness
Every width needs its own thickness. Around 3.5 to 4.5 mm suits 45 to 55 mm; wider waist belts usually pair a softer leather with a backing or stiffener.
Cut and shape
Straight or contoured, with a drawing of the curve. A contoured cut needs its own press knife, and it lies on the body without gaping.
Statement buckle
Size, weight in grams, finish and attachment. A heavy buckle drags a soft strap down at the front, so its weight belongs on the specification.
Backing and stiffener
Lining leather, bonded leather board or a firm interlayer. The backing keeps a broad strap flat; without it the edges roll inward.
Cutting direction
Straps cut along the hide's backbone line stretch and curl less than straps taken from the belly.
Surface and colour
Smooth, patent, metallic, croc or snake emboss, with seasonal colour cards. Approve fashion colours on swatches of the actual leather.

Tests and certificates for wide leather belts

REACH Annex XVII, entry 27 (nickel release)
A large plated buckle puts more metal against skin and clothing. For parts in direct and prolonged skin contact, nickel release above 0.5 micrograms per square centimetre per week is barred, so test each buckle finish.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 43 (azo dyes)
Seasonal fashion colours and printed finishes widen the dye list, and dyes releasing listed amines above 30 mg/kg are restricted. Ask for a report per colour.
REACH Annex XVII, entry 47 (chromium VI)
Soft waist belt leathers are usually chrome tanned, and the 3 mg/kg chromium VI limit applies to leather touching skin. A patent or metallic coating does not excuse the leather underneath from testing.

What moves the price of a wide leather belt

  • The statement buckle, which on many wide belts costs more than the strap.
  • Width: fewer broad straps come from each hide, so leather cost per belt climbs.
  • Backing, stiffener and lining layers that keep the strap flat.
  • Contour press knives, and studs or eyelets set one by one.
  • Patent, metallic or printed fashion finishes against a plain smooth leather.

Lead time for wide leather belts

Wide leather belts typically sample in 10 to 18 days and run in bulk in 40 to 65 days after pre-production sign-off. A buckle cast from your drawing needs a mould and test castings, which add days before sampling, and a new contour press knife adds a few more. Seasonal colours dyed to order add tannery time. The quote ties the dates to your drop.

What we check on wide leather belts before shipment

  • FlatnessEach sampled belt laid on a table; edges stay down with no cupping, and contoured belts keep their curve.
  • Buckle fitThe strap enters the buckle without folding, and a heavy buckle sits level when the belt is closed.
  • Stud and eyelet settingStuds and eyelets tight, evenly spaced and smooth on the back, so they neither catch a dress nor scratch skin.
  • Plating on broad facesLarge buckle faces checked under light for pits, bubbles and uneven tone, which show more on a wide flat area.

Questions buyers ask about wide leather belts

How thick should a 50 mm belt be so it does not curl?

Typically around 4 mm in a firm leather, or a thinner face leather bonded to a backing. Curl comes from a strap that is too soft for its width, or one cut across the belly where leather stretches. Ask for the sample to lie flat on a table for a day before you approve it.

Can a statement buckle be made from our own design?

Yes. A drawing or 3D file becomes a mould for casting in zinc alloy or brass; the castings are then polished and plated. The mould is a one-time cost and adds days before sampling. Ask for unplated test castings first, so the shape is approved before any plating.

Are wide belts sized like trouser belts?

Not always. A waist belt sits higher than trousers, on the natural waist, so it is often sized S to L or by dress size, with a long tail or extra holes. Say where the belt is worn and the body measurement it is meant for, and the unit grades the curve from that.

Can we order small runs across many seasonal colours?

The minimum starts from 100 pieces, and how it splits across colours is set by the unit and the tannery in the quote. Stock leathers split easily across colours; shades dyed to order may carry a tannery minimum each, so plan fewer custom shades per drop.
