How to specify a denim backpack
- Size and volume
- Width, height and depth in millimetres. Volume in litres helps buyers compare, typically 15 to 25 litres for a daypack.
- Strap build
- Strap width, padding and length range, the webbing or denim used, and the sliders. Padded straps spread the load of a full bag.
- Strap anchors
- A reinforcement patch inside each anchor and a bar tack through all layers. Mark both on the drawing, top and bottom.
- Back panel
- Unpadded, foam padded or a mesh face over foam. Padding stops the contents pressing into the wearer and stiffens the bag.
- Closure and zips
- Drawcord with flap, zip top, or both. Give the zip type and size, usually 5 or 8 for the main compartment.
- Lining and pockets
- Lining fabric and colour, laptop sleeve, inside zip pocket, and side bottle pockets with elastic tops.
