Hotel towels, your specification
Made to your tech pack, fabric and colours by a factory matched to the order.
Private label

Hotel towels are bought as a set for each room and replaced in bulk as they wear out in the laundry. The set has to match in white, border and weight from face cloth to bath mat, and next year's replacements have to match this year's. A hotel towel manufacturer in Bangladesh usually weaves, bleaches and hems a set on one site, which helps keep every piece in one quality.
Garments Hub BD asks both quoting factories to state the weight per piece for every item in the set, the pile and ground yarns and the border build, so the comparison covers the whole room set. If bed linen is part of the same order, sheets and linen have no factory bench yet: the desk finds and visits a unit for that half and replies on it within 5 working days.
Kinds of hotel towel
White dobby border set
Bleached white ring spun terry with a plain or patterned dobby band near each end, the standard room set. White takes chlorine bleach and hot washing, and replacements match old stock most easily.
Jacquard logo border towels
The hotel's name or mark woven into the border on a jacquard loom, in white or a house colour. It lasts as long as the towel, unlike a print, but needs artwork set up on the loom and a minimum run.
Tone on tone towels
A logo or pattern woven white on white, or in a shade of the ground colour, seen only as texture. A quiet mark for upscale rooms, with the bleach tolerance of a plain white towel.
Coloured stripe border sets
White terry with a stripe or dobby band in the hotel's colour. The stripe needs dyes that survive hot washing and bleach without bleeding into the white ground around it.
Bath mats
A flat woven or loop pile mat, usually heavier than the bath towel, often 700 GSM and above, with a border that matches the set. It lies on a wet floor and takes the hardest wear in the room.
How to specify a hotel towel set
- Set pieces and sizes
- List every piece with its finished size: face cloth, hand towel, bath towel, bath sheet and bath mat. Sizes differ by market and room grade, so fix them per property.
- Weight per piece
- Grams per piece for every item, with the tolerance you accept, so the set stays in proportion: hotel room bath towels usually sit at 500 to 650 GSM, hand towels and face cloths are scaled from that figure and the mat sits above it.
- Pile and ground yarn
- Ring spun cotton pile by count, and the ply of the ground yarn. The pile decides hand and absorbency; the ground decides how long hems and edges hold in the laundry.
- Border and logo artwork
- Border width, the dobby pattern or jacquard artwork as a vector file, and logo height. Fine lines and small letters blur in terry, so keep a logo bold and large.
- White standard
- One physical white standard for the whole set, measured on each item, since terry and flat borders reflect light differently and separate bleach batches drift.
- Packing by item or by set
- Bundles of ten or a dozen per item for housekeeping stores, or a room set for a hotel opening, with the count per bundle and carton marks.
Tests a hotel towel manufacturer in Bangladesh should report
- ISO 3801
- Mass per unit area of the woven terry, the basis for each weight per piece. Test every item in the set, since a light face cloth or mat throws the set out of proportion.
- ISO 105-C06
- Colour fastness to washing, with staining on an adjacent fabric. A coloured border must not bleed into white terry at hotel wash temperatures, so test at one of the hotter procedures.
- ISO 5077 with ISO 6330
- Dimensional change in washing. Terry and its flat border shrink at different rates, so check the border for puckering as well as the towel for length and width.
What moves the price of hotel towels
- Weight per piece across the set, since cotton yarn is most of the cost of every item.
- Jacquard logo borders, which need artwork set up on the loom and a minimum run per design.
- Coloured borders dyed to resist bleach, against plain white dobby bands.
- Bath mats, heavier and woven on their own set up, priced apart from the towels.
- Room set packing for an opening, against bulk bundles by item.
Lead time for hotel towels
A white hotel towel sample with a stock dobby border usually takes 7 to 14 days; a new jacquard logo border needs loom set up and can run longer. Bulk usually runs 30 to 60 days after the pre-production sample is approved. Borders dyed to the hotel's colour and wash tests on the set each add days, and the quote confirms the dates for every item.
What we check on hotel towels before shipment
- Set proportion by weightA bath towel, hand towel and face cloth from one carton lot weighed together, so each sits at its stated grams and the set feels matched in the hand.
- Logo legibilityJacquard logos checked on sampled towels for broken letters, missed picks and a clear outline at the agreed height.
- Border position across the setBorders square to the towel edge and at the same distance from the hem on every item of the set.
- Border against pileThe flat dobby or jacquard border compared with the terry beside it on each item, since the two take bleach and brightener differently and a yellowed border spoils a white set.
Questions buyers ask about hotel towels
How many towel sets per room should a hotel order?
Usually about three par: one set in the room, one in the laundry and one on the housekeeping shelf, so a room is never short while towels wash. Add an allowance for wear and loss, order in whole room sets, and keep the specification on file so next year's replacements match this year's.
Can the hotel's logo be woven into the towels?
Yes, in a jacquard border, white on white or in a house colour. Because the logo is woven into the cloth, it lasts as long as the towel. It needs bold artwork, a loom set up per design and a minimum run, all stated in the quote.
Can towels and bed linen go in one order?
Yes, as one hospitality order with shared delivery dates, though the two come from different mills: towels from a terry mill, linen from a sheeting unit. Towels are quoted from the bench; for linen the desk finds and visits a unit and replies within 5 working days, so send both together.
Should bath mats match the towels?
In a room set, yes: the same white and the same border pattern, at a heavier weight. A mat is woven flatter and denser so it lies still on a wet floor, which often means its own loom set up and its own line on the quote.
